its obvious floyd style only appeals to PPV audience when hes up against someones with a name
and the appeal is really more so

      the one that catches him
      so like someone said
      alone......
      without fighten a name
dont think hed be as appealen
where as most other PPV guys can get high numbers

A good example would be Paul Williams vs. Floyd Mayweather....can Floyd carry a PPV on his back like Tito, like Oscar etc?

          I dont know.
Yeah, but I dont think thats fair. Im not crazy, he's not Oscar or Tito but who is? Thats always been my point. People act like Floyd is the only guy who's not Oscar or Tito. No one else in boxing is either. Also, its not like those guys are americans. If they were american then they wouldnt be that big either. Tito & Oscar carry whole contries on there back which gives them way more fan base. Boxing is still huge in PR & Mexico but its not in America.

I think Floyd & Shane could do very well. How come it wouldnt count with Shane? Shane's not popular at all. He only got famous because he fought Oscar. If he fights a regular guy then no one watches. He cant get on PPV like Floyd. If he fought Zab then it wouldnt be on PPV. He did well with Vargas because Vargas has that mexican fan base.

I think Floyd is very solid right now. Against Williams, I think he could do ok. He wouldve been perfect if he couldve been more Offensive against Oscar. He did blow a big chance on that. I have a feeling that a rematch would be much more exciting with both guys letting there hands go more but less people would probally see it. I still think it would do well though

What are you talking about? Look at Floyds numbers vs Gatti & Zab compared to MAB, JMM, EM, & Pac fighting eachother. Those other fights are supposed to be big time super fights and Floyd's numbers are right there with them. When Floyd did have a super fight then he blew them away

I think he will still hover in the 300-450 range...Floyd is being tagged as a defensive master amongst the general sporting public and I if that tag sticks I dont know how many 600K PPV's he will be selling.

              You could be right though...
Again, thats too much. No one does 600 except Oscar & Tito. No one is saying he's that but I think he's on the next line which is still better then nearly everyone else

It wouldnt get near the record and I agree they lost alot of steam but I think its still big enough and the fight was still close enough to still do something great like 1.2 to 1.5

Do you remember another fight in recent memory that was promoted this much? I doubt it. The 24/7 series, the U.S. tour, etc. This fight was brilliantly promoted.

Oscar biggest PPV numbers was 1.5 mil against Tito, I guess PBF is the real deal now.
