margartio is a top fighter not a popular one but a top fighter, mosely turned down the fight almost a year ago, and has been asking for it. judah has been asking for a rematch, williams is working his way to the top, and when did cotto turn down a fight with floyd? im not saying he didnt. but the point is that names are still out there.

the old winky would, but older winky might have a bit more trouble.oscar lost to floyd because of his movement, thats what won floyd the fight. winky has defence but it comes from blocking if oscar can do combinations body to head like againts floyd he might hold his own.

I guess we can agree to disagree about Margarito being a top fighter. IMO he would get beaten very easily by any opponents with above average boxing skills. I'm not sure Williams has that, so I wouldn't know who to pick in that fight. Cotto, however, would put Margarito in the hospital within 9 rounds. A year or two ago (sometime within that period), Bob Arum said that he would never put Cotto in the ring with Floyd. Mosley was offered a fight with Floyd in 1999 and asked for $10 million. He's now only getting a couple million each fight, so of course he wants to milk Floyd's new-born popularity. I don't think Floyd will be willing to fight anyone but DLH and Hatton at this point. I don't see him fighting any of Arum's fighters or Mosley because Shane wouldn't give him his shot earlier in their careers.

It was a liver shot, which I think is even more painful than a kidney shot.

margarito might not be a great fighter but then why not fight him and stop all the talk, and stick it to arum by fighting one of his last decent fighters?
as for cotto, arum wouldnt put two of his best undefeted fighters againt each other when floyd wasnt that big of a name. remeber now mayweather has big name 2 years ago cotto haveint PR gave him the bigger name.
hatton wont fight at 147 or out side of his country for a while.
floyd already beat oscar, why not take care of the other guy who beat oscar.

At this point in his career Floyd doesn't need to give a "decent" fighter a shot to prove he's no good. A fighter needs to bring something to the table for him. Shane, Hatton and DLH all do. Margarito, Cotto and Williams do not. This is why Williams is fighting Margarito and Cotto is fighting Zab and the winners will more than likely square off. The winner of those 4 will be the only one that might get a fight with Floyd (unless its Zab who he already beat). And I don't think any of them will bring enough money to the table to get the fight. DLH, Shane and Hatton all bring prestige and the opportunity for money.

but maragrito has been top guy at 147 for a while, but floyd just past him up, margarito has been asking for him for a while, long before floyd reached this great level he is on.

No fans, no money, no fight. Like I said, Floyd doesn't need to prove to Margarito that he's better than him. He doesn't need to prove he's better than anyone. Margie needs to get some fans that are willing to help give Floyd a $12-15 million payday.

Floyd was guaranteed $10 million plus a share of the PPV buys which is expected to get him between $16-18 (maybe more) total.
