Oscar has always fought the BEST!

Whitaker (P4P no 1 at the time)
Hopkins (P4P no 1 at the time)
Mayweather (P4P no 1 at the time)
    Mosley twice
    Trinidad
    Hernandez
    Chavez
    Camacho
    Rivera
    Quartey
    Vargas

You can make whatever arguements against him but you can not deny he did face the best fighters in his career and has always been fighting the best.

Absolutely. It sucks that he has an L on his record to a few of those guys, but you cannot argue that he didn't fight the best. For the record I think he beat Trinidad and Mosley in their rematch.

I dont believe he took a dive...That was a kidney shot by Hopkins, punched directly on the kidney, it normally stops bloodflow for a few seconds, you dont feel it until a couple of seconds later but when you feel it after a few seconds it brings terrible pain.

I don't think that was dive. Obviously I don't know for sure but I think that it was just an awkward punch landed by the stronger man. The punch did look painful mainly because if I remember correctly it looked like it dug right into DLH's body. It was a weird punch but you just never know how a shot is going to effect a fighter...

If that's the case I am glad I kept punches away from my kidneys with my elbows.

And he was competitive in every fight. I think he took a dive against Hopkins as well and he was still holding his own.

I gotta get this off my chest real quick.

You may be a fan of Floyd Mayweather, or just not a fan of Oscar De La Hoya in general. But please, give Oscar his dues. He's been a great asset to this sport that we love so much and has given it his all throughout the years. I'm sick of reading so many people ****ting on Oscar after losing to Floyd, the guy gave it his best and that's what this sport is all about.

The younger, quicker lion won, it always happens. But it takes balls to step in the ring with Floyd like Oscar did at a time when Mayweather has seldom looked better. Oscar could've went with anybody, wouldn't have made that much money but he could've picked an easy guy to go out on top with. But he chose to fight Mayweather and that demands respect.

I was agreeing with you at the time of the fight, but after finding out a week later that both Hopkins and Delahoya became partners, that's the time I start doubting the fight.

I find it a little strange that they became partners so quickly, Oscar should've won the Academy Awards for that fight.

For the record I thought he beat Tito, Mosley in the rematch, and Whitaker. I thought he lost to Quartey.
