Floyd hit Oscar with the fistic equivalent of gnats...butterflies...mosquitoes. Tap, evade.

Easily satisfied seems to be the predominant answer here. 'A title in every weight class'.

Some of you fail to grasp the importance of HOW you win...not just that you get the nod.

    Moving on.

He can retire now and be considered an HOF fighter but in my mind not one of the all-time greats. To me its sad because it looks like he has the skills to be one of the best ever but simply has not challenged himself against the TOP competition. Sure its not solely his fault that there isn't a host of good fighters in his weight like during the Leonard/Hagler/Hearns/Duran era but there were/are fights that could have been made. When fighting his 2 toughest opponents JLC and DLH Mayweather did not look his best although he did win the fights. If he were to continue I would like to see him beat Mosley, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito etc. If he did that then I would have nothing to say but congratulations on a great career.

I don't give a fighter a pass because his hands break. I see Gatti unleash shots with force even with a broken hand.

So basically, you are telling me some people are satisfied with Floyd's lack of toughness and tenacity, and that is ok.

          Fine. Just say so.

I must admit, the multi weight thing is bogus considering of who he fought in each weight division. (Floyd himself describes Gatti and Baldy as bums)

I am waiting for anyone to address the question.

Were you or were you not 100% satisfied with the way Floyd fought Saturday night?

              Simple question.

There was nothing else to expect out of the guy. He does not have KO power at the higher weight classes. As expected interviews say he broke his hand yet again. He always does. So you have a small man with no power and brittle hands fighting the bigger man and fan favorite. What does he do? Land at a three time higher connect percentage while throwing less than Oscar did. If you didn't like how Floyd fought you simply don't like pure boxers. At the very least you want to see a boxer/puncher - and Floyd is a slick, elusive boxer- nothing more or less. His skills are amazing but he will never be what so many fans want him to be. He can win, and win, and win...and still not get 100% credit. You're giving him a grudging nod of approval - not real credit for his well executed victory.
I wasn't totally disappointed with the way Mayweather fought but I thought he played it too safe. He could have let his hands go more and simply threw more combinations. I think it is safe to say that DLH really didn't look like he could hurt him but Mayweather failed to engage in exchanges like the one at the end of the 12th round. If he had mixed in a little more in the pocket action it would have been satisfying to me and frankly I think he might have been able to TKO him.

The fact is Floyd is a GREAT BOXER and i RESPECT HIM, but i dont respect his decision to retire like he is...... When your on the top of your game as Floyd is and have all the boxing ability and heart to remain that way, why retire when there are still guys out there with just as impressive records as you, who will be calling your name out after ever victory.... I personally couldnt be satisfied with a career like Floyds and couldnt imagine leaving on the terms he is.......... BUT with all that said he'll be back sooner then later and if he is smart dont follow the steps of Leaonard and retire like 400 times

I've also seen Gatti get embarassed time and again. All heart little brains, no? Point being maybe punching with a broken hand shows a different mentality. You see it as tough, tenacious and a true fighter- some see it as a brawling style with less intelligence and skill mixed in. Gatti has to throw power punches with broken hands. He can't win with his sheer ability like Floyd.

Do you think possibly you just enjoy a different thing from boxers than all the fans, writers and commentators that respect him? Some like Floyd - many don't enjoy his style. Why? Because unlike Oscar, or Mosley who can move up in weight and retain power, Floyd has little. The only thing I can see you faulting him for his not landing more combinations or staying in the pocket to punch- both things that would get him hit more. Boxing is the art of hit and not get hit, right? You want a pure brawl go start one in the street or watch UFC.
