Mostly agree with this. I think Tyson was more of a freak than Ali. That frame with that footspeed/explosiveness and the POWER he carried closing the distance while punching/ his combinations. Un f ucking real.

Ali had unreal speed too. Speed of a little guy. A FAST little guy at that and all with that footwork and balance.

Still, Tyson might be the most impressive athlete to me ever. It's just when I see/saw Tyson I couldn't help but think that no man should be so explosive/quick/powerful/ at 200+ pounds and have that balance... Scaroest athlete ever? Probably. To me at least

To me it was like... Ali was water. Dude was so graceful and beautiful to watch. Tyson was like a thunderbolt

Muhammad Ali may have had the fastest feet and reflexes, proving it with his unorthdox style and efficient head body and foot movement.

People overlook Floyd Patterson but his hand speed was noticeably faster than Ali, Tyson, and others. His arms were smaller, but he was more explosive than Ali, faster than Tyson, but a smig less explosive. That leaping left hook and those 4-5 punch combos at his peak in the late 50s and early 60s were a sight to behold

        Tony Tubbs deserves a mention.

Floyd Patterson IMO. It depends on what type of speed we are talking about. I think there might be a few guys who are faster than Ali with a single shot like Patterson, maybe Tyson or even David Haye. But in terms of combinations Ali was the fastest.

Haye and Ali, but neither were true heavyweights in the modern sense.

But Ali was natural HW. I'm thinking that's what we're speaking of for the most part. Considering Roy started at Jr MW its not really fair to compare him to naturally larger man in Ali. You could make the argument that all things equal, Ali may be just as fast as Roy.
