    Fastest Heavyweight Ever?

Is it safe to say Ali is the fastest heavyweight ever? (I haven't seen much of heavyweight fighting other than Ali's, but from what I have seen he blows the competition away.)

I can understand this due to the size of the two, but it's rediculous as big as Ali was he was able to hit you with rediculous combos..in example Brian London.

floyd was extremely quick,,,,but ali's speed was amazing before he went to jail. I think floyd may have appeared a bit quicker at first glance becuase of his smaller size,,,but ali was the fastest in my opinion

Some people argue that Patterson had more handspeed than Ali, maybe. But he didn't use it as much as Ali did. Plus his footwork, agility and overall atleticism can't compare to Ali. No one comes close to a young Muhammad Ali in terms of being fast with everything.

yupper. his foot speed was crazy. funny thing is he used to agitate the **** out of his opponents then why they had there chance to get back at him in the ring they couldnt hit the bastard. must have been as frustrating as hell. of course ali was a different kind of beast after his comeback when he relied more on heart and will to beat his opponents. there will never be another ali. never

On film, Ali's jab took 7 frames to complete; Sugar Ray's took 9 frames. A second of film takes 24 frames. That’s crazy fast.

I got 30 patterson fights on dvd and his hand speed was amazing, i have also got some footage of him working out before the liston fight and before the roy harris fight and his speed bag work was amazingly quick for a heavy, although i do agree that ali had much faster footwork and better agility.
