depends who you have fought in your defences and your title wins. Obviously this is your way of creating another British/American divide thread. I take 20 title defences against good opposition over 5 titles in 5 weight categories against good opposition

This may be news to you, but there are others fighters who have 20 defenses or more in one division and they are American...

Floyd 4 titles in 4 divisons, faced and beaten 10 world champions all while moving up in weight.
Joe has faced 4 world champs while staying at the same weight in 20 defenses!
Thats NOT a good thing.

because you are in most cases facing hand picked opponents as you are stepping up, whereas if your gonna make 20 defences atleast a handful are gonna have to be against top 5 in your weight class

And you don't think a champion can handpick opponents either? What a joke. Do you have a short memory? Calzaghe just defended against the undeserving Peter Manfredo. Before the Lacy fight, he faced Evans Ashira who definetely didn't deserve a shot...

If you handpick a champion, you only have 4 people tops to choose from. If you handpick a title defense, you can pick basically anyone. Even a mandatory defense can be against a total bum...

20 straight to me is more impressive....winning a paper belt in a bunch of classes like Floyd and DLH have done is impressive but not as impressive as say what B-Hop or Calzaghe have done in their respective divisions.
