    ORHAN PAMUK

In 2005, lawyers of two Turkish professional associations brought criminal charges against Pamuk[6] after the author made a statement regarding the mass killings of Armenians and Kurds in Anatolia. The charges were dropped on 22 January 2006. He has subsequently stated his intent was to draw attention to freedom of expression issues.

The criminal charges against Pamuk resulted from remarks he made during an interview in February 2005 with the Swiss publication Das Magazin, a weekly supplement to a number of Swiss daily newspapers: the Tages-Anzeiger, the Basler Zeitung, the Berner Zeitung and the Solothurner Tagblatt. In the interview, Pamuk stated, "Thirty thousand Kurds, and a million Armenians were killed in these lands and nobody dares to talk about it."

    HRANT DINK

Article 301 has been used to bring charges against writer Orhan Pamuk for stating, in an interview with a Swiss magazine, that "Thirty thousand Kurds and a million Armenians were killed in these lands and nobody but me dares to talk about it". The charges were later dropped.[5][6]

There you go, I dont have time to get more info on other authors. These cases were dropped due to international pressure from the EU and US. NExt time dont deny the facts

1.5 Armenians were systematically killed in Eastern Anatola from 1915-1917

    Long live our fedayees.

        • A lot of Bulgarians were also killed and executed by the turks, earlier though during the 500 years yoke.

          • Hey demiturk,

Professor McCarthys statements were proven to be misleading and incorrect several time by Professor Levon Marashilian in a history conference in Turkey.

McCarthy's work is also funded by the Turkish government.

So please dont bring his work into this argument.

+ you dont even know what facts he has to back his evidence up. But at the same time u dont care about the facts since you are brainwashed to just care about the end result.

Next time you post something back it up with evidence.

And what do you have to say about Article 301. You dont want to talk about it anymore after being proven wrong?

            • Let me clear one more thing with you.

It is a proven fact that Armenians did not have a militia in the Ottoman Empire before the systematic killings of Armenians. So your argument that it was a civil war is BULL****. Armenians did not even have guns to fight back the Turks during this time in history. How is it a civil war when all the young men were called in and killed before the whole population was evacuated to the Syrian desert?

You are a good example of what Turkey is doing to its citizens. It is spreading lies, and covering them up by funding incompetant historians to come up with vague and useless information.

                • You have very little education on the topic. Your arguments are crap.

What do I gain from Turkey's acceptance you idiot? The only thing I will gain is justice for my grandmother and her family.

"your country sends biased armenians historians to the conference"

-Hey SOAB, the world has recognized what the Turks have done to our culture/people. Live with it. McCarthy is not a scholar that is going to change the current situation of Turkey losing the war. It can keep its bull**** propaganda between its people.

                  • This is another fact on Justin McCarthy.

McCarthy is known for his controversial[1] challenge of the view that there was an Armenian Genocide.[2] He was also one of four scholars who participated in a debate hosted by PBS over the veracity of the genocide. Television critic Alessandra Stanley of The New York Times commented on McCarthy's condescending behavior during the program and the ease at which his arguments were countered by humanities professor Peter Balakian and Ottoman historian Taner Akçam.[2]

BTW Taner Akçam is a TURKISH SCHOLAR

GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT NEXT TIME YOU COMMENT ON THIS ISSUE.

                    Comment

                    • BTW this professor was also charged with insulting TURKISHNESS

                      Here you go

"Akçam declared himself an accessory to the charges against Hrant Dink, and urged readers to join in Dink's support.[13] Later in January of 2007 an Istanbul court decided not to pursue the charges against Akçam."
