Alright guys I just give a brief overview and go too deep into the details, first of all Lee wasnt a fighter. Manny Pacquiao is a fighter, he trains to fight and actually displays his skills in a fight against another professional fighter. Lee was an actor who claimed to be a great fighter and displayed his skills in movies in choreographed fight scenes against actors. Just because he could do one arm push ups doesnt mean he could beat everybody, push ups dont mean **** in a fight. We know from his fights that Pacman can take a punch, has good KO power, has great stamina. Lee can do a "1 inch punch" against a guy that stands there and lets him do it, other than that we dont know anything because he WASNT A FIGHTER. He can kick all the pads he wants but I bet when he tried to setup his 1 inch punch and Manny decked him on the chin with a big left hand he would be in a whole new world.

secondly, as far as "his philosophy" goes, he passed others saying as his own. For example his two best ones were his theory on how one should "Be water my friend", and that a fighter should not have only one style. I ask everybidy here to read "The Book of the Five Rings" it is a fighting strategy book written by a samurai by the name of Miyamoto Musashi hundreds of years before Bruce Lee was even born. In the book, Musashi discusses lots of things and one section talks about how one should emulate water, water flows smoothly, it changes directions and adapts to the situation, if water is stopped like in a damn the water burst through in. a rush, etc etc. Musashi also talked alot about having differant styles and swithing them up, if the opponent knew how to beat one style then switch to another until he couldnt beat it etc etc. I have one of the many translations but its too late to actually go through it and take out direct quotes right now, I will if you guys want though.

thirdly, he is a hypocrite. He stole Musashi's philosophy of having "no style", then he forms Jeet Kune Do, which is its own style.

Manny is a fighter. Bruce Lee was a great fighter. You judge how good someone is as a fighter by the calibre of people think he can beat. When people who speak about Bruce his name is along names like Ali and ****, so when we are talking about Bruce we are talking serious dude here.

Hes been gone 30 or so years now so there really isnt any excuses to not know what Bruce was about. I couldnt or woudnt expect to be able to fool people about him not being able to take out Pac even if i wanted to.
And i am a pac admirer. But i wont let that cloud my judgement on this issue.

that is bull**** he used to have challenge fights with other martial artists
world class martial artists like Dan Inosanto and Gene La Belle ,Hayward Nishioka were training with him. They all have spoken about his amazing fighting abilities!!

According to Jesse Glover his first student -
"The power that Lee was capable of instantly generating was absolutely frightening to his fellow martial artists, especially his sparring partners, and his speed was equally intimidating. We timed him with an electric timer once, and Bruce's quickest movements were around five hundredths of a second, his slowest were around eight hundredths. This was punching from a relaxed position with his hands down at his sides from a distance between 18-24 inches. Not only was he amazingly quick, but he could read you too. He could pick up on small subtle things that you were getting ready to do and then he'd just shut you down".

Obviously the only reason this whole thread was created is because of the similarity's in body type and the fact that they are both asian. You can't say much about the matchup because Bruce Lee never boxed and Manny most likely never street fought. You got 2 guys out of their styles facing each other. I know I know, Bruce Lee had no style, he's water, he can fight any style, yeah yeah yeah, get the **** outta here. As for the lats, Manny's arms are at a different angle than Bruce as he's not showing them. But no doubt, Bruce looks like a cobra. For a guy that weighed prolly 120lbs, they are quite big.

120lb? Where did you get that figure from? Pac prob weighs about that. But Bruce in that pic is about 145lb.

There's one fight Bruce Lee that was witnessed and they were by his students.

That was when other martial arts schools (or whatever they're called in Chinese) sent in a fighter to prevent Bruce from teaching their skills to non-Chinese.

Bruce accepted the challenge.....thinking he would end the fight in 10 seconds.

The fight lasted much longer and from what I gather (if you see passed their bias), it was a clumsy fight which Bruce won.

This was the turning point in Bruce's philosophy in martial arts. He had to adapt different styles to his technique. His success was through the success of his students.

I still say he would have lost in the boxing ring under boxing regulations.

It's a long read, but this will either dispell or generate Bruce Lee's "mythical" status as "unbeatable".
