london is hardly a neutral.. being joe is the boy toy of britain, it seems on these threads..

it could easily be held in denmark with the exact same attendance as in wales or england.. for the andrade figth they had aprox 20000, and for this they could without a doubt fill our danish national football stadium. aprox 45000-50000.. the fight wouldnt generate more money in england, unless the attendance surpasses the capacity of the our national arena..

hbo money the same
attendance aprox the same
ppv the same

so if palle has the cash to pay calzaghe 5 mil $$$ to come over here and fight, then warren, if he wants the fight in britain, should be able to match this offer..

palle is wisely negotiating, and warren now has to step up..

Anyway, it's irrelevant. You couldn't generate as much income for this fight in the US as you could in Denmark, let alone any part of the UK.

Exactly what i said earlier HBO would need to match the money lost from selling about 30,000 less tickets to take the fight to the US i can't see it. Ans also can't see calzaghe going to denmark which is why i can't see it happening anywhere but the uk probably the millenium dome which sounds good to me because i'll be going if it is!lol

This is true tech i would think tho that it would be expensive for HBO as they would need to make up the money that would be lost in gate receipts. I don't know what this fight would draw in the US but it wouldn't come close to the 30-40,000 it could get in europe wouldn't u agree?

You are probably right, but couldnt they just stick on PPV in US, Denmark and england (i dont think Warren would let it go on Sky tho to be honest.) and make money that way?

he is holding 2 major belts, recently been on hbo, invited to participate to the espn friday night boxing, every message board is debating this figth..

this a big one, and even hbo is pushing for it, if joe wants homefield advantage, warren has to pay, and right now, with all the hype sorrounding the possible fight, in my humble opinion warren gotta dig deep and match the offer, whether he does this is another question..

hbo is stated to be willing to pay 3 mill $$ for the fight, with a sell out crowd of around 50000, plus pay per view this fight is going to get bigger then warren expected or purposely was willing to admit from a business standpoint..

Well they could but ITV have a contract to screen all of warrens bills plus the fact that the fight is in the US doesn't make it more likely to be on PPV as we were saying the other day if HBO want it on PPV or live over there the fight will just be on live in this country at 2 or 3 am to suit them so there is again no advantage to take it to the US.

I agree that Kessler will deserve a big payday if he comes here but there is no way he will get a 50/50 split from warren and if they some how talk Calzaghe into going to Denmark (which i can't see happening) the money they offer Joe would have to be so high they could never match it for Kessler.

as i said before, if palle can offer joe 5, then warren could as well offer mikkel the same, no one knows the excat amount of money this fight would generate.

i for one, surely believe that kessler would fight in wales if the offer was matched, and whether or not its 50/50 or 55/45, isnt really an issue in the end for palle, he just looking for warren to make an offer that represents market value..
