You have to laugh. Calzaghe/Warren were criticised for an offer seen as a little on the low side. Now Taylor's ridiculous demands are seeing as nothing more than a negotiating tactic. A bit of consistency eh people.

Here's hoping it's just negotiating. This is clearly Team Calzaghe's first choice of fight for the autumn so lets hope it happens.

This just proves that Taylor is afraid of Calzaghe. One of the oldest scapegoats when you don't want to fight an opponent is to ask for a ridiculous amount. Remember Marquez. Now Taylor is doing more of the same. I always thought Taylor to be a "manufactured" champion and that a legitimate fighter can take him out with ease. Calzaghe is that guy. The middleweight division is just sad. Had Hagler been fighting today, he would have kicked Taylor's ass and beat all comers.

Now all those Taylor fans, can you still be proud with how Taylor handles himself?

totally.. it´s a case of history repeating itself..

warren from a business standpoint of course starts with a low bid, but when countered it does´nt seem as if anything gets through..

and i my opinion, taylor is closer to the actual amount of money he should recieve, then warren.. if warren wants a big name, then pay up or shut up..

he did´nt want to negotiate with the kessler camp regarding the date or the money, warren has the disease called "my way or the highway" . AND as you´ve pointed out, warren is almost for certain claim, taylor priced himself out..

Warren has also said that he has offered Carl Froch the biggest cheque of his career to fight Calzaghe but he thinks Froch wont take the fight.

I'd like to know if that's true. I'd be surprised in Froch turned down a title shot for free - it's do or die time for him.

Calzaghe - Froch would be bloody awesome. Probably a better contest than anything else in the 160-168 range.

Froch has turned down Warren yet again because Warren wants options on him, having spoken to a mate of his Frochy is fuming. It's plain and clear they want nothing to do with Froch, but then again you can't blame them...

When Froch was out of contract last summer, he went to talk with Warren about a one, two or three-fight contract involving a Calzaghe fight but Warren wanted ridiculous options on him (must have learned from the Kingster!). Froch obviously would have went back to Hennessy after, but was willing to do anything to get Calzaghe in the ring (yes, even sign with ****ing Warren!).

I know he's a shrinking violet, but I'm surprised Froch doesn't simply state all this in the press.

Warren is a bloody parasite though.

If Taylor really is holding out for $10million (which he's not, obviously) then he needs to ask American TV to come up with the money, because nobody has ever heard of him in Britain and ticket sales would be much less than they were for the Manfredo fight (everyone remembers Manfredo over here).

                      Yeah, that's what I thought.
It's pricing yourself out when you won't budge from a ridiculous offer. I think $10 million is high for Taylor, but considering he's made $5 million or so for fights near his hometown, I would say $7-8 million is fair. Hatton, on the other hand, asked for $13 million and wouldn't come down from that and that's ridiculous considering he only made $3 million to fight Tsyzu in his backyard...
