Yeah, but the lack of name value will bury Calzaghe with US fans. We heard the same about Bika, tough challenger despite not having a name, and Calzaghe lost some luster as a result. Now with the Manfredo disaster, which people wanted to give him a mulligan because of the Contender situation, a fight against a guy like Inkin will peeve HBO (hopefully) and may make negotiations for a Hopkins/Wright/Taylor fight impossible because HBO will side with the Americans in those talks.

Alot of people will be angry if Calzaghe doesn't fight someone named Mikkel, Jermain, Bernard or Winky next. PERIOD. And I am one of them....

(I just hope Warren doesn't dig up some opponent named Mikkel Taylor or Bernard Wright).

$10 million is outrageous, today's heavyweights aren't even earning that.
If you knew anything about negotiating, you would know that you have to start high and make them talk you down. If Warren makes no effort to negotiate, it means they just don't want the fight. I think $7 million would be fair for Taylor. 10 is just as ridiculous as 4...

Well if Warren starts with 4 and Taylor counters with 10, doesn't that mean they can compromise at 7?

HBO will go all out to get this made since it would promise to be much more action-packed than Hopkins or Winky, they need a return on their investment in Calzaghe, plus it can get made for August or September at the latest, whereas a fight against the Hopkins/Winky winner would probably be December.

That must be the Brits talking up another Calzaghe opponent just like they did with Bika. Inkin is a nobody and Calzaghe should not be fighting this guy following two very easy fights...

And if you could read, you'd realise that Taylor said he'd fight for $10 million, not 7.

I bet Warren just says that Taylor's priced himself out and knocks it on the head.

Oh yeah, so what's the difference between Taylor asking for $10 million from Calzaghe and Hatton asking for $10 million from Mayweather?

It's called negotiating, right? But didn't Hatton price himself out of the Mayweather fight?

                      Yeah, that's what I thought.
