    You have to add:

    Taylor UD12 Hopkins

    and

    Calzaghe UD12 Kessler.

That tips the scales in Calzaghe's direction, by far the best win either of them had as champ.

Without going into the general quality of more recent WBO champs (pretty good) , you forget that Joe has at one time or another held the WBA and WBA Super Champion, WBC, IBF and the Ring belt. For **** sake, Hopkins may have a slightly better resume at the mo, but do your ****ing research!!!! BOX REC is but a click away.......ARGH

Kessler isn't better than Trinidad or ODH were. I'm sorry (to Kessler fans), but what exactly has he done in the sport? Who has he beat?

I don't think either list is particularly impressive.

"Pound for pound" he is not better, but in reality he is a much tougher fight than either.

Oscar? I loved Oscar at 135-140, but at middleweight he was a bad joke.

The Oscar fight does nothing for Oscar's resume

I think that Kessler's ongoing performances could tip it in Joe's favour. If he goes on to dominate the divison and takes out Bute, Mundine (again) Froch and Taylor (if he moves up) it will put Joe's win into perspective. If Lacy comes back from the dead, that may also count.

Its all academic anyway, the fight will settle who is best.

Not pound for pound at the moment? Maybe not but they were fighting two to three levels above their natural weight class i.e Hopkins (middle) vs Holyfield (at cruiser) who would your money be on prime v prime?

Kessler would give Hopkins a better fight than Trinidad or De La Hoya.
