I must have missed the announcement of #1 contender (remember them - I believe Kessler fought one last) Inkin being announced as Calzaghe's next opponent. Could you provide me with a link? Thanks.

The London venue is a strange one though. But then, a US fight only makes business sense if against a big American name.

Out of interest, why is Kessler unavailable for July?

The difference is, WBO allready claimed they woudn't force Joe to fight his mandatory if he fought Taylor or Kessler

Kesslers hands were the size of g****fruits after the Andrade fight.

Any fight between Calzaghe-Kessler would have to match the demands of both fighters and I doubt a Warren fight in London between the two would generate much more than twice what it would generate in Danmark.

There's some awful hypocracy being spouted here. We all want to see the top fighters meet but it seems one fighter gets criticised for fighting in his biggest market thus getting the biggest paydays whilst it's seen as a virtue for another one to do the same thing.
You're missing the point completely. Everybody wants the biggest fights for the biggest money. The problem is Calzaghe (Warren) wants to dictate the terms. If Palle offered Calzaghe 1.75 to come to Copenhagen and fight Kessler, do you think Calzaghe would do it? Would you scream bloody murder "Calzaghe's ducking Kessler"?

My point is quite simply this: Warren wants Calzaghe to fight in the UK. If he's gonna get any of the big fights to the UK, he's gonna have to make it worth those fighters' while. Offering them the same (Kessler) or half (Taylor) of what they get at home is NOT going to make a super fight happen. Calzaghe's not gonna fight Taylor in HIS backyard, for half what he normally gets, is he?

Warren is underbidding these guys, and he's doing it on purpose. Wake up.

Bad hands eh. Now THAT'S ironic. Fair enough excuse though.

Especially since it seems Calzaghe broke his hand on Manfredo...

If Palle offered Calzaghe a large purse after he'd been calling out Kessler for years, and he then turned it down without making a reasonable counter offer, then absolutely i would say he was ducking him.

Do you have a link to where Taylor is making $7m per fight? It's just that I can't find any proof of this.

I have to do quite a few deals in my line of work. Funnily enough, we don't usually start high and work down. You seem to be under the assumption that negotiation doesn't happen.

If these guys do want the fights, but arent happy with the bids, why dont they make a counter bid?

Its all fair enough saying that you want someone but arent being offered enough money, but at least Warren and Calzaghe are chasing the big fights, what are the big fighters doing?

I've yet to see that on any press wire.

Anyway, Di Bella has turned down the offer for July on both money and timing grounds, and the second point is certainly a fair one. They, like Kessler, want it later in the year.

No, YOU seem to be under the assumption, and certainly Warren does too. Otherwise, you wouldn't be talking like Kessler turned down a fight with Calzaghe. He turned down a bad deal, yes. If there's to be negotiations, then he hasn't turned down a Calzaghe fight. Sort of undermines everything you've said about Kessler ducking Calzaghe.

Edit: I read a few places that Taylor got 7 million for Ouma, I'll try to find it. You won't believe it anyway, unless it comes from Warren, though...
