I;m sure it's already been said, as I haven't read the entire thread, but this is a bull**** offer. Warren is clueless - on a conference call two weeks ago, he didn't know (or at least acted so) that Taylor-Spinks was already official.

He kept saying that Taylor had no opponent, since Mora pulled out, and that he'll need to face someone in order to prevent from going inactive. Two reporters informed him that Taylor-Spinks was a done deal, that a c/c to discuss that fight was in fact scheduled for the next day. Warren said he hadn't heard anything of it, therefore it wasn't official.

Anyway, long story short, Warren's full of it. He's demanding Jermain come overseas two months after this fight, move up in weight and all for short money to fight Calzaghe. Then he gets to say that everyone's ducking Joe (though not unlike DiBella's claim that Taylor had to fight Spinks "since Miranda and Pavlik already committed to fighting each other.")

Kessler and Team Palle correctly this week is in US for negotiations. I think HBO wants the Kessler - Calzaghe fight to go down in US - to secure the fight will actually come on. And why not. The money don't come from spectators only, (as Warren keeps on talking about) bot more from ppv. HBO could show the fight in US, 5000 spectators easily, ppv in UK and i Denmark, and probably sold to allot of others TV-network in Germany, Australia, Canada and .........
The fight day will then more or less being dictated buy HBO, so both fighters just have to be ready.

It's the same boloney they are saying about kessler...warren will never put calzaghe on an even playing field...it the hatton thing all over again...even hatton had to fight warren in court to get out of his fangs....warren will do what it takes to protect his investments....low risk high rewards,,,,,atleast hatton didn;t wait until he was 35 to fight outside of great britain...I doubt calzaghe will ever fight outside of great britain.....

it's old news but the fact still remains anyone with any boxing sense knows that taylor didn't win those fights, they were given to him.

if it were a fight with no judges only popular vote from the fans (real boxing fans who know WTF) taylor would've lost like he should've, hopkins got beat by HBO and their hype machine, plain and simple.

Unfortunately, none of those things has to do with who wins a boxing match! Here's what does: who wins the most rounds. Hopkins won his rounds BIGger in their first fight, but not big enough in any to be 10-8. So he wins his rounds bigger, but 10-9, same as Taylor. But Taylor absolutely won more. Hopkins didn't even really fight until round 9 of the first fight.

And their 2nd fight was insanely easy to score. It was 7 rounds to 5, all day every day. I did a live round-by-round and scored it that way, so did all 3 judges, Lederman, Merchant and most sane boxing observers. No controversy in the 2nd fight, none at all.

I really can't believe the Taylor hate on this board. I haven't seen anything like it anywhere else. Like it just came out of nowhere, wow...
