Your thoughts about: Manfredo v.s Calzaghe

I actually though Calzaghe should have been more aggresive in the first 2 rounds, but then again, hes smart, and wasnt going to be careless and jump in straight away. Thats why he is still unbeaten.

To me it was a nothing fight. Im not sure what was worse...the matchup or the stoppage.

joes a fraud. Trying to fight an old ass hopkins instead of kessler. **** him, he wanted no part of kessler. After the fight he talked about fighting hopkins or jermaine taylor. ****ing kessler is leaps better then those two and he has belts. **** calfraud.

Manfredo deserves a rematch, fight was fixxed for calzaghe. I don't know if calzaghe realizes it was, but the ref was setup to give him that win. No way in hell should have they stopped that fight. Disgusting as hell, and calzaghe with his grin instead of being pissed off that the ref made his 20th defense look like ****. Those punches had no power behind it to give a man a comma or to give them brain damage. Peter was talking fine after the fight with no bruise on his face what so ever. **** wales

Pros on larry merchant: He called calzaghe out on kessler... And said what about kessler

Negatives: He bad mouth manfredo even though slappy landed next to nothing and the fight was stopped too early

It's bull**** when you can see what manfredo was trying to do. He was trying to pull an ali, by getting joe tired out because joes a moron who punches non-stop and doesn't pace himself well... Kind of like a young george foreman but leaps faster not nearly as strong

It Was A Mismatch Cause Calzaghe Choose It, no one forced him to fight a ****ty contender fighter he choose to do that on his own. Everyone who watches boxing knows manfredo sucks ass. But he did better then i expected defensively for my taste. His defense was leaps better then lacy's in my opinion.

Err, no. Calzaghe never even wanted to fight Manfredo. HBO wanted it. Joe didn't "choose" Manfredo, he just got a good enough payday to warrant doing it, plus some name recognition in the US. Unfortunately, some of these Contender dudes were better known than the champions at the time.

Everyone knew he was crap, the point is why did he fight him?...

I've seen Steve Bunce interview Joe Calzaghe, and Joe was saying "I'm sick of fighting these kind of fights, I just can't get up for them. I'm bored."

Good money and a little more name recognition in the US are the reasons why this fight happened.
