Who had the best champions Mexico or puerto rico?

Mexico has by far the better champions and they have far more of them. PR has a good portion for the population and you really shouldn't dismiss the per capita aspect of the debate. It depends on the questions you are asking.

I feel that Mexico's best are pound for pound better than Peurto Rico's best.

If you go around and ask different people what their definition of latino is you'll get all different answers, thats the point I was making. Even if theres a correct definition of a word and everyone elses definition. You say its a racial term, I just looked it up in wikipedia out of curiosity, it says its a term for inhibitants of Latin America. Thats not a race, and even if thats not the "right" definition it's a meaning for the word so tell me how is that not semantics.

As for cyberthugpatrol contradicting himself, in a thread about the best latino fighters, he names three fighters who are Mexican. Then in this thread he says that Mexicans aren't latino...so please tell me how the hell that isn't a contradiction.

Ok I will give you that I didnt think about the Mexican fighters in a "latino" post. I was refering to the fact he said he wasnt latino and was correct in that statement. It's cool though I was just trying to point out the fact that when people use the term "latino" they are refering to a certian race of people i.e hispanics, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans ect ect.

People direct it at the wrong group of people in the wrong way.

Mexico has had more champions..... But Emmanuel Steward said it best

"Puerto Rico produces more champions per capita than any other country".

Mexicans bring an element to the ring that not many other nationalities do...

-Work ethic
-stamina
-durability

The downfall of mexicans is that they characteristically do not bring a diverse array of skills. Many of them fight the same some are just more polished than others.

Puerto Rican fighters also bring an element to the ring that not many nationalities do. But IMO PR champions did not resemble eachother in any way. Each one was identified by something that distinguished then from others. Wilfredo Gomez is arguably in the top 5 P4P hardest hitting fighters in the history of boxing. One of the most powerful left hooks in the history of boxing belonged to Tito. I can go on and on.... but the point is that PR has had more champions per capita and IMO more exciting.

Until this day JCC is still my second favorite fighter, but JCC was in a breed of his own. DLH is American, born in america with Mexican HERITAGE. Yep I said it DLH is American!
