And that won't be happening as Calzone is going to retire early at 35 having never fought outside of Wales. Maybe he can fight all the Contender personalities and make it to 30 wins?

I think that you'll be pretty hard pushed to find someone who was top dog in their weight division for over a decade, who ISNT in the Hall of Fame.

Its not exactly the toughest venue to get in to.
True, but he wasn't really the man. Most people thought that a very green Lacey was basically the uncrowned SMW champ because all they knew about Calzaghe was that he held the WBO title for a while and had beat Chris Eubank. That's about it.

What kind of champ doesn't unify his own division? A puppet champ, that's who.

Why the **** would he want to unify the division when he’s lineal and ring champion, just means more fees for a couple more cool looking props round his waste that mean absolutely nothing.

Who did he beat to be lineal champion?

              Beating Lacy restored lineage.

I can see how you could make that argument. I think he needs to unify the division to be seen as THE champion. If he doesnt, it will leave questions unanswered. The sad thing is that it almost seems as though Calzaghe fans care more about his impact in boxing than he does.

Resign yourself to mediocrity Calzone. You belong with Valuev and his ilk. I know, maybe Calzone with challenge Sergio Mora next!
HOpkins has a weak record as regard defences of his middleweigfht crown. Unless you compare Tito with Joes' Eubank and Lacy.
Joe aint scared to box in america. Its just that he knoww when you are in america it is out of your power because of the corrupt judging there and Joe couldnt trust the judges. In the UK you at least get fair judging.
And Hopkins is clever in that he knew Tarver was the weaker opponent for him and took Tarver instead of Joe. He is a clever businessman. Tarver beating a past it rjj doesnt impress me.

Hm, last I checked someone who was "top dog" in their division unified it. Seems like Calzone is just a little Welsh poodle.

Riiight, and if Calzone could actually unify his division instead of pretending to rule over it, his idiot fans would be bragging about how he owns his division with the belts to prove it. But since he can't, they can't, so until then it means nothing to euro fans.

But then again, we all know greatness has a much lower bar in Europe.
