Well dont go to extreme examples then, stick with sensible ones. I'll never criticise a boxer for deciding that they've 'had enough' in a fight and quitting if they dont feel that they can continue.
I dont think that quitting a combat sport is as low as you can get. I think that dying or becoming brain damaged or risking serious and dangerous injury if you dont think that you can win/survive in a fight is ridiculously ******. No inflated sense of pride would stop me quitting if I felt that it was the best thing to do.
If Tiger Woods decided to quit on the 17th hole of the Masters, I couldnt give a ****. The only people who have a fair call to care are him and the people who bet on him. He has no obligation to win you money, so its tough ****.
