No way Oscar took a dive like a lot ****** people think. He has far too much pride and already far too much money before that fight.
The legitimacy of the KO has been questioned quite a bit, even by fighters and ex-fighters.

But if it wasn't legit, it still was not a fixed fight. De La Hoya would hardly be the first guy who quit in a fight, especially later in his career after achieving so much.

plus Tysons fights against Williams and mcbride....that was embarassing....he just sat on the canvas and didn`t even look that badly hurt..
A post-fight examination found that kostya had a minor brain injury, maybe he knew something was wrong.

Guys like Tyson are a sad story cos Tyson wanted to quit long before those fights but there was the money problems he had and the promoters talking in his ears and all the boxing fans 'n critics telling him he was a better champ than Lewis and could still beat him.
Naz is the biggest quiter of all time, he quite on his fans and on boxing! He gave us some good fights yea, (And so did Rocky)...But he was calling Barrera for many many many years! Telling the British public this is what he wants a top fighter, And to be honest he never never had a chance in my book I knew it and so did many British boxing fans, I guess Naz did as well.. .YOU GET KNOCKED DOWN YOU GET UP AGAIN Period

a). I never said that he was a good human being.

b). The details around his **** conviction are horribly confused and controversial. A number people on the jury said that it was a misjustice and that he should've been retrialed.

c). I never said that he was a victim. I merely outlined some facts about him rather unbiasedly.

d). I've never seen anyone post that 'bottle' emoticon without looking like a complete and utter moron.

His biggest crime was talking so much **** then walking away. He made himself look so ******.
Before then he backed up everything he said.

But i believe he deserves credit for not only producing some of the most exciting fights of that era, but also making the smaller divisions gain much more attention and box office credibility.
In the UK he was much more of a household name than Lennox Lewis ever was.
Although a complete ****, he did great things for boxing as a sport.

i remember that one dude that was a good article, i recommend others check it out.

i think the real thread title should have been "fighters who quit in their prime"
because there is a massive difference!!

morales is a great fighter no doubt and anybody who disagrees is just being rediculous!
his loss to zahir raheem showed alot of what was to come.
we all thought because of his pedigree he would be a force to a younger in form pac, and he obviously did too!
his no mas in the 3rd fight was more of a "i've got nothing left than a live to fight another day"

mike tyson quit fighting to win a long time before he fought holyfield in their second fight nether mind willliams or mcbride.

naz did not even quit fighting because of the berrara defeat,
it was more because of the crowd booing after the calvo fight.
believe me i was there and it was obviously the end of his road!!
i seen his face when he walked out and i knew there was no way he was coming back.

acelino frietas neeeds a mention here because of his no mas against corrales because he un-doubtably could have fought on..
but i still doubt that he was a prime fighter then!!

the best example of a quitter is andrew golota!!!
he was killing rid**** bowe twice and still could not find the mental energy to continue.
even though he was probbably the best fighter on the h/weight scene at the time he blew it!
not because of any opponennt but because of himself!!

so if you ask who is the worst quitter it has to be the man who had the talent but not the heart!!!

im not even gonna argue for duran or robinson because logic just tells us all that it is ****** to mention their names in this thread!!
