Because while its not about talent faced, its about talent. And all hatton did by beating Urango the way he did, was prove that he is an elite fighter. But he didnt prove he was a p4p fighter.

I can't argue with your last point there. Not sure about him slipping to 11, he deserves a top ten spot I reckon, but he's in desperate need of some competition this year. Hopefully after Castillo there's going to be a fight announce for the end of the year. 2006 ****** for Hatton!

when people rate one of the boxers, they switch positions.

The p4p list isn't about quality of opposition, it's about where each guy would rank if different weights were not a factor in terms of ability and potential. I'm not sure why Hatton wouldn't be in there. I'm also not sure how Hatton can be leapfrogged by Calzaghe in a period where Rick pitched a virtual shutout against a world titleholder and Calzaghe didn't even fight!

Hatton has been in the p4p rankings since he beat Kostya Tszyu (who was ranked number 3 by the Ring before the fight. He has dropped as a couple of guys have gone into the rankings ahead of him, notably the Marquez brothers and Calzaghe. Cotto was in the rankings but a great showing by Marquez against Barrera bumped him. I know Hatton is possibly the most hated fighter on this forum, but the Ring's editorial team obviously seems to think that he has some ability.

If P4P is purely about ability and potential, I don't think anyone would deny that PBF belongs on top. But because opposition is a factor, a few people think Pacquiao should be on top.

If Ricky Hatton had the same resume he does now minus Kostya Tsyzu, he's nowhere near the P4P list based on his talent alone. That's a fact...

You cant minus him though, because he fought Tsyzu and he beat him. You cant change facts just to suit your argument/opinion.

In the past 12 months he's faced two world title holders at different weights and beat them both, whilst remaining undefeated himself, whilst already on the top 10 P4P list.

Please name the other fighters who have done that.

Does anyone think that Joel Casamayor doesn't get enough credit. Because he has fought a lot of good competition and beaten or at least been competitive with them and his losses are against good or great fighters.
