Don't even think about it? Why shouldn't we when DiBella and HBO both don't mind Taylor fighting 154lbers? Mayweather is a 154lber, at least for one fight, so why not think about it. Spinks had two fights at 154 before getting a middleweight title shot, so why not give one to the P4P best in the sport...it's a true P4P challenge.

Oh, and there would be a lot of intrigue, like the Jones-Ruiz thing, and it would sell well on PPV. Boxing is a business, and as a business PBF-Taylor makes just as much if not more $ense as PBF-Mosley or Cotto. Maybe not Hatton because of the money involved from the other side of the Atlantic...

Truth is Mayweather could make 140 pounds.

Except he wont of course while ever the terrier is there.

Mayweather is the most talented guy around, but he hasn't conquered a single division he's fought in yet.

And how did he hop skip and jump from 130 pounds to 154 pounds without facing Freitas, Mosley, Hatton, Tyszu, Margarito and Cotto and nobody gives him a grilling for it?

This remids me of a rooster fight back in Puerto Rico I saw. There was a slow, but pwerful unbeaten 5 lb'er and a very fast, unbeaten 4 lb'er. The 4 pounder pond for pound was better, speed, accuracy and power, but remember, the term is pound for pound. So, they pitted them, and while the smaller was balzing, his pound for pound power was not enough to really dent the bigger one too much, and his power, the bigger, was too much in the end for the smaller one. In essence, the better rooster lost. And thats what would probably happen to Floyd. His power wont be enough to deter Taylor from coming forward and throwing, and wold probably wear Floyd and KO Floyd.

Well, Mosley and Hatton have been ducking Mayweather for years. How do you fight someone who's unwilling to fight you? Same goes for Cotto, except Cotto doesn't mention Mayweather's name and neither does his promoter.

Freitas was a total nobody when Mayweather was at 130. He didn't become known until around 2002 when he fought Casamayor. By that time, Floyd was at 135 fighting Castillo.

As for Tsyzu, he was injured most of the time that Mayweather was at 140. When he finally came back from injury, he was obligated to two mandatory defenses. The first against Sharmba Mitchell, since he had claimed the interim title while Tsyzu was out. After that, he had to fight the #1 contender, Hatton. This is about a 2 and a half year period, so there was no time Floyd could have even fought Tsyzu unless Tsyzu dropped his belts.

As for Margarito, I don't see why Floyd should have fought him when there were bigger fights to add to his legacy like Baldomir and DLH...

That's why you can't "grill" him for not fighting them...

seriously if spinks is gonna go up to 160 to fight taylor there is no reason that floyd shouldnt try... in fact, taylors choices of mora and now spinks indicate he may be possibly trying to get a fight with a quick fighter in anticipation of a matchup with floyd..

floyd vs. jermain would be the 2nd biggest fight moneywise would it not??

floyd doesent give a **** about establishing anything at a certain weight..

why not go after taylor at that point? say what you want about the size difference but floyd would approach jermain the same way he did baldomir its not crazy to think floyd could win 7 rounds and be middleweight champ

then he might have a case for some of the crazy braggadoccia that flys from his mouth
If Taylor fights Spinks and Spinks does well, I could definetely see Floyd stepping up to fight Taylor...

taylors made 3 defenses - bhops winky and ouma,
and for mayweather, i would definatly give him cred for fighting taylor at 160 win or lose this would further his legacy imo because he would fight the toughest possible challenge out there in everybodys opinion and don't say that any other fighters metnioned are tougher fights than taylor. this would prove mayweather has a pair

If the aswers yes we have to list a him as a super human if not then thats what i thought.
