This isn't a modern science since there are written recordings of ancient Greek fighters that new the "Sweet Science"

Reinvention, breaking away from the pack, bringings something new, whatever you want to say...

This goes for War as well, it isn't new, but it is smart
I think during the John. L, years it was thought that ducking and so on was unmanly.
Just think of what a bunch of old redneck cowboys who just walked out of a bar would have reacted when they go watch a fight and one guy is running from the other for 80 rounds .
I wouldn't want to be next to the drunk guy during that time .

Actually, he is correct, since race is involved.

I guess this is why John L. avoided fighting Black Fighters, he didn't want to get his ass beat by the better athlete/smarter man...or maybe it was because they were just a bunch of dumb rednecks who couldn't comprehend the meaning of "Art of War" because they weren't to bright.
            was that racist/stereotype ?

I am not sure on the exact facts, but I once heard that in World War I the English army went up against one of the first machine guns used in battle...on one side they had a man with his gun, gunning down the enemy...the English were that enemy being gunned down...each time the Officer sent his men in, trying to attack the enemy head on, but guess what happened each time? bodies continued to pile up...after to many deaths, to much ******ity, one man stepped up and said {and not sure on the words}, "This is bull****, lets try something else"

What makes a man isn't just his toughness, but it is intelligence that seperates him from the rest...a "Man" also has to be brave enough to break away and take a chance.

A smart man should also show admiration for "genius"

            Get my point?

It wasn't on purpose though I don't think he was aware of how it came off. But his main point I guess was that Mexican fighters generally fight with their heart and go all out. As opposed to picking your spots.
mexicans dont like oscar de la hoya because he fights smart, thats why they use to boo him, instead of taken 4 hits to get one off like julio chavez

Machine guns were in use in the American Civil War. It's often the case that technological breakthroughs cause tactical stalemates until something else is developed to counter it (as in the First World War when the invention of the tank made assaults on machine-gun positions possible, or when the advent of gundpowder propelled weapons ended the centuries-old hold of castles on the military strategic ;andscape) and it has nothing to do with the intelligence of the combatants...

                Digression anyway.

Mexicans tend not to fight smart, they instead tend to fight from the heart. I would consider this to be cultural rather than racial. Steward didn;t say that mexicans are not smart. He said they tend not to be smart fighters. This is cultural.

J.C. Chavez was a good defensive fighter before he got old. He had good head movement and was effective at slipping shots up close or rolling with the punches,

who cares whether it was racist or not...its his opinion...people are supposed to be allowed to have opinons....what happened to free speech.

We muct protect peoples right to speak, not jump on every fcuking comment and label it racist or some other meaningless label.

I am white. If someone says 'white people are crap boxers' .. i dont care...why would it offend me...why would i care...some people look for an excuse to be offended.

i`m not downing the thread starter or mexicans as they produce consistantly great fighters, its just my general observation about labelling people for their views.
