Taylor took the torch by beating him both times, he did'nt need Bernard to pass it to him. The only people who say Hopkins were robbed were either Hopkins fans or the one who had their money on him, Taylor won both fights and you as much respect ive got for the great legend Hopkins in the few years he will still ***** about those losses because he deep down truly knows Jermain beat him. I have watched the first fight about 30 times without exaggerations because I enjoyed it, and out of 30 times Ive scored it for Taylor, it is not a hard fight to score only If Hopkins started early no doubt he would have won, his inactivity lost him that fight, after the 7 rounds I think I had it 5-2 for Taylor with hopkins getting 3 rounds at most after 7th.

Nowadays close fights would be called robberies, if there is any split decision, someone would scream robbery just after hearing/seeing that SD, without even watching the fight. Like...some one would say X got ROBBED!!! Y got the decision!!! cant wait till he fights Z he will get pwned!! AND then they Make a lot of threads about it, then they would say...Oh I still have to watch the fight BTW, aint seen it yet! now talking about this one but i have noticed it happens a lot with other fights, particularly new members do it here.

I agree 100%. These close fights always seem to end up being called these huge robberies after a certain amount of time. People are buying into Hopkins excessive complaining about the fight. Just like every is now saying that Wright got robbed against Taylor. I strongly disagree and in fact I had Taylor ahead.

The only way that you could score the first fight for Hopkins IMO is to give one of the last rounds as a 10-8 round. Hopkins dominated those rounds, but not soo excessively that he deserved a 2 point round, and as far as I'm concerned there is 7 obvious Taylor rounds.

I remember after Hopkins fight with Tarver he leaned over the ring ropes and told Emmanuel Steward that the torch at middleweight is not passed to Jermain Taylor. That was a classy move, and that was the type of man that I think deep down Hopkins truly is. This talk about Miranda having the torch is BS.

Yes, Taylor took the title from Hopkins in the ring. Close or not, Taylor got the win. But what Hopkins is saying is he thinks the future of the middleweight division is not the man who took his belts, but Miranda. Hopkins held the title for 10 years. He obviously does not think Taylor can do the same, and from the sound of it, doesnt think he is a great champion.

Agree with him or not, his 'passing of the torch' is saying he thinks Miranda can do what he did and win and HOLD the title for many many years. JT may have gotten the belts, but he dosent have the torch!
