It seems quite obvious to me that this thread is somewhat of a parodical joke. But within that it does bring up some interesting contradictions.

Some of you people take things too seriously.

what i'm saying about i do believe that fighters should fight abroad due mainly out of experience, it's a good experience and i think that fighting abroad makes you a world class fighter. but the world comes to the US to fight, because it's the big stage of boxing.

now for the why go anywhere else, that has a couple of parts to it, one everyone comes to the US to try and make it and go big, two for some reason as a whole there is more money to be made here in the states especially if you are a top contender or a champ. so when it comes to US fighters going out of the country why go anywhere else when they come here? that's what i was getting at, sorry for not clarifying that earlier.

i'm not trying to contradict myself in anyway, just didn't explain it clear enough

LOL, Larry Holmes called fighters **********s and Promoters Pimps.

If the "Master" could make big money fighting his "******/gladiators" in Rome, he would. The goal was always to get to Rome. "All roads lead to Rome"

What is boxing supposed to be about?

Boxing is a sport, sports are supposed to be about competition, about proving you are the best. Somewhere the boundaries as to what makes you 'the best' got blurred and we now consider 'the most financially profitable' to be 'the best'.

Boxing is a business. I think every serious fighter aspires to prove he is the best. The reason the best don't always fight the best is business. There isn't always big money in the best match ups. That is precisely why there are many guys who are/were avoided. They are tough fights, but the financial incentive isn't there to make the fight happen. Whose fault is that? The fans! We can make any fight a moneymaker if we're willing to pay to see it. Sadly, most people want to see name fighters.

We really can't blame a guy like Calzaghe for fighting Manfredo over Kessler(although he deserves the criticsm), because more people are willing to pay to see the Manfredo fight over the Kessler fight...

Yes SIN is right this time, it is OUR fault that we pay to see the **** fights sometimes rather than demanding what at least some of us know to be the real fights.

Anyone with a job will tell you they'll take more money for an easier day's work. I'm not going to lie and I'm not in what I do for just the money.
