How will Oscar get through Mayweathers defence?

I'm Pretty sure Mayweathers defence isn't perfect but I can't imagine Oscar getting past it.

As we all know Oscar will need to throw more than 1 punch at a time to hurt Mayweather. But do you think Oscar can catch Mayweather with a big left hook while Mayweather's coming in?

Every single fighter in every single fight gets hit by dozens of punches. Regardless of who you are no boxer can enter the ring and not get hit. Can Mayweather avoid getting hit by Oscar's power punches? That's one of ten thousand questions being asked, and debated, about this fight on this forum.

i think a good stiff fast jab is trouble to anyody's defense. if Oscar cat utilize the jab effectively it could set up possible combinations with the right hand OR left hook.

yes the jab is the key. Oscar has a hard jab and if establish it or use it to set up counter left's off of MAyweather's counter right it would be very effective to breaking down Mayweather.

He also needs to move side to side and trap Floyd into coming forward and engaging. He can catch FLoyd by countering. If Floyd drops his hands and shoulder rolls on the ropes DLH should be prepared to punish him with shots to the shoulders, arms and body no head hunting.

that would be a good plan. he could catch floyd reachin in. i dont think oscar is as fast as floyd but i fell that he has enough speed to at least keep up with him. Oscar will have to be on top of his game. but the jab to the head AND body. stiff jabs to the body will begin to bring floyds defense down sum.

In one of the interviews with Floyd, the guy mentioned, timing beats speed. Floyd didn't really know what to say, he sorta smiled. I think he knows and Oscar knows, this is the way to beat Floyd. All about timing him. Either Oscar will have to act as the counter puncher, or time his shots in exchanges with Floyd. Though I don't see many exchanges happening once Floyd gets a taste.

IMO he's gonna do it with the straight right...
The way Tszyu did against Judah...

beat on his arms, body and shoulder until mayweather slows down. I would say do not even consider his head for 4 rounds. make sure all of his left arm hurts like hell. make sure the defensive movements that are usually so instinctive as painful as possible after a few rounds.

Oscar has a huge problem here: is stamina.
if you want to bully mayweather you need it.
if you want to give him side movements, you need it.

as for timing mayweather? forget about it

That's worth thinking about. Oscar's made people touch the canvas with his right before. It's not like he's a 'hook only' puncher.

with pressure and a steady dose of left hooks. The best way to go against that defense is with a left hook.
