CAN SOMEBODY please tell me why COTTO deserves all this credit????

His chin isn't great, so sooner or later he will be knocked out. But for now he's an undefeated two-division champ who's produced a few good moments. his resume is not nearly as good as Hatton's, Mayweather's, etc., but the big ones are coming up this year for him so we will see.

What people fail to understand is Quintana turned like that for a reason. Cotto started to hurt him bad with hooks to the head, and Quintana anitcipated it coming and tried to turn his head. But Cotto unleashed to the body instead. Look at Quintana's face after round 5. It was marked up bad. He was starting to wear down.

Its not Quintana turning like a dumbass. Boxing is a chess match, and Cotto outsmarted him.

this is the point im making. If hatton boxes like he did against URANGO, Cotto gets stopped late. Its almost garunteed.

Urango packs a big punch and he landed it ONCE against Hatton and it hurt hatton to the body.

Hatton, against a guy Like COTTO, would defend the body extremely well. Hed have to.

ill tell u right now, win or lose against castillo, if hatton doesnt get hurt to the body he will stop Cotto. i can straight up garuntee it.

If i had to pick a winner for COTTO-BALDOMIR, i would pick BALDY in a great fight.

Baldy beat JUDAH, and dominated Gatti, and stood 12 hard rounds with Mayweather.

Cotto beat paul malinaggi, who is a good boxer, but he never proved himself against anyone.

Cotto stopped Corley, which may be his best win.

Or maybe Carlos maussa.

I mean these are good fighters, but to say he can knock Mayweather out, or outbox Baldomir, or take a decision over mosley, is a bit rediculous at this point.

Cotto is a great fighter, but whoever he fights in JUNE will be his best opponent to date. If he stuggles against Margarito if they fight, or williams, or mosley, i see no reason why this guy is getting so much credit.

People are hating on guys like Hatton for hand picking there opponents... but cotto hasnt fought the opposition hatton has?

Cotto is a very exciting, very talented fighter, but he hasnt fought a name fighter since Maussa... and he is hardly a name... or corley if he counts.

Cotto has fought alot of tough, battle tested, good fighters.
He has not only beaten them, he has disposed of them (minus Paulie)
The fashion and dominance in which he displays in his fights is probably the reason why he recieves so much credit.
And that people (most notably pr's, are dying for the next tito.)

OK OK but you are not going to hold Cotto's resume up to Hatton's. It's not close. I like Cotto enough but we will see soon what happens when he steps up the competition.

Because of the beauty and grace that he flowed in and out and dodged and dipped. Urango couldnt touch him for the entire first 5 rounds.

I saw a style that would give anybody at 140 pounds trouble, unless his opponent had a long reach like williams.

And im just saying THAT style that he used against URANGO. hes boxed before and its beautiful. but he tends to tire out as he goes when he does that.

Its ok to make a dumb thread every once in a while, but please don't mention Hatton and Cotto in the same sentence again. Especially the way he fought his last 4 fights or so.
