The Nevada glove rule..

I'm not sure if its a huge conspiracy thing but Nevada has seen the revenue potential of MMA. Especially due to its PPV sales and the demographic it caters to.

Exactly my point. Surely there's reason to believe it could be something of that nature with the growing mass of MMA fans and boxing dwindling in terms of overall exposure.

Hell does anybody even know how many MMA leagues there are now? I think I lost count a long time ago. Seems like every week there's a new league, with the newest being that **** on Showtime.

Whats ridiculous about this new rules change is that it comes at the heals of the NSAC sanctioning MMA fights which use gloves are feather light and are only there to keep the fighters from breaking there hands (as it often happend in the earlier bareknuckle fights).

If the neveda commision really cared for there fighters -in this i will include the mma- then they should be equal and have the mma use 10oz gloves.

Those guys should be fighting with the 8-10 oz gloves as well. Those little things only pad the knuckles so you don't cut your hands on the other guy's teeth. What are they anyway? 4 or 6 oz?

I belive boxing when it first had to wear gloves used 4oz gloves, just so the boxer wont break his hands. then the 6, then what 8 now 10, **** later it will be 12oz. Do they even allow boxers to wear 6oz anymore?

I believe in safety just like the next man but the rule makes no sense.

I belive boxing when it first had to wear gloves used 4oz gloves, just so the boxer wont break his hands. then the 6, then what 8 now 10, **** later it will be 12oz. Do they even allow boxers to wear 6oz anymore?

Yeah, the gloves just keep getting bigger and bigger. As I said, I wouldn't be surprised if they turn to pillows as boxing gloves. Can you see that ****? Freddie Roach using duct tape to adhear a pillow around De La Hoya's fist before he fights Mayweather, lol.

And I believe those 6 oz gloves were banned a long time ago, unless you roll around on the mat with some sweaty dude inside of a cage for a living, then they're perfectly legal.

Hell ya it effects Ricky Hatton. He usually wears reyes, thats how he cuts people up and rips 'em to the body. He hasn't been the same since he wore bigger gloves then usual against Collazo (there was something ****ed up in his contract that made him not able to wear reyes) and of course the bigger gloves against Urango.

Before we have 15 rounders with fighters wearing 6 to 8 oz gloves. Now we have 12 rounders with fighters wearing 10 oz gloves on championship fights ? What's next? They'll cut it down to 8 rounds with fighters wearing 14 oz gloves?

I could be wrong about this, but it seems to me like the new rule could in some cases endanger fighters even more by simply prolonging beatings. On a bit of a side note, I had a friend once who was a pre-med student and he also fought in MMA, he basically swore by the idea that it was safer to fight with the MMA gloves then with boxing gloves as far as long term health was concerned. Ofcourse, being that he was himself an MMA fighter, he may have been a bit biased, and there are clearly risks specific to either type of glove.

Defently. Foreman has even said this many times before when he was an announcer for hbo.
