    The Nevada glove rule..

Do you guys think it has a large effect? HBO seems to think it does. Do you think this might hurt DLH's chances? I think it also might hurt the Hatton/Castillo fight since both rely on power punching.

I'm against the new Nevada glove regulations. I see and understand both sides of the argument, and I'm especially sympathetic to those in support of it because of guys like Levander Johnson. However I think as a fighter you take that risk for the love of the competition and the love of the sport. I don't think it's going to cut down boxing-related fatalities at all.

    As for Oscar/Floyd and Hatton/Castillo.....

Oscar probably won't hit at has as usual with his left hook, Mayweather never had much power to begin with. Floyd could go bare-knuckle and still not hurt Oscar. So I guess it's going to lessen the blows of both fighters.

Hatton/Castillo just plain sucks, those guys are known for power shots and with bigger, more padded gloves I'm not sure how it'll effect the outcome of the fight.

this is mostly just a test.

They want to see if the death rate decreases dramatically. If not, they will search for a better way.

If i was worried about the sport being banned, i would actually want this glove thing to help decrease the deaths.

Because if it doesnt, maybe they'll eventually resort to head great or something.

But i doubt it will make a difference and this time next year it will be back to normal

8 to 10oz glove makes a huge differnce, just as Larry Merchant said, especiall in the later rounds.

It's an experiment right now, but they want to make fighters wear gloves that are no less than 8 oz and no more than 10 oz for fights in Nevada.

Nevada are dumbasses, what they need to do is educte there referees and stop fights sooner but don't go with a bigger glove.

You know what Ferocity? I actually agree with you on this one....I know, it's weird for me too.

Wouldn't surprise me if that fatalities don't decrease, and eventually you see guys fighting at the Mandalay Bay with pillows covering their fists.
