Do you guys think it has a large effect? HBO seems to think it does. Do you think this might hurt DLH's chances? I think it also might hurt the Hatton/Castillo fight since both rely on power punching.

Put 20 ounce gloves on Geroge Foreman and he will still knock you out. Gloves were originally devised to prevent or at least reduce hand injuries.

The new glove rule is a sham. It is a pretense of safety dreamed up by some fat-assed bureauc**** who don't know their asses from a gopher hole. Wearing heavier gloves will not lower the rate of boxing deaths in the lower weight divisions. Virtually all of these deaths are consequence of dehydration. When a man has to loose 15 or 20 pounds of water just to make weight, you know that sooner or later something bad is going to happen. It is about time these idiot bureauc**** started dealing with the real problem. It is time to eliminate this habit of dehydrating to make weight.

I hope these opinions would come across the members of the said commission. Hope they would reconsider in applying these rules and come up with some kinda fact finding committees of some sort, composed probably of boxers, trainers, boxing experts,medical experts etc. to determine the viability of the said rules.Its not only the profits we are talkin about here.Its the life and limb of the boxers which at stake.
