Fact of the matter is, generally its the champions that chose where to fight right? So maybe you should be asking the fighters why they are fighting here. Not Americans fault that most of them are choosing this place.
The Euro is worth more than the Dollar. The Eurozone isn't exactly small or insignificant.

It seems crazy that Las Vegas and New York are seen as the only places that a really big fight can take place. Why not Australia, or the UK, or France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Africa, the United Arab Emirates?! I mean, this is WORLD boxing, not US boxing. Boxing is dying and this would undoubtedly be a way to bring it to a bigger, global audience.
You'd be surprised how many DONT happen here. The thing is the fights you know most about happen here. Mainly because its a bigger pay market then most other places considering. Also as for hometown then mandatory's hometown. That would be a bit rediculous no? Your the champ you've EARNED your spot, now some guy who is trying to take what you got should have an advatage? Its not like other sports where the top two teams compete for the championship. One man has it, the other wants it. Thats how it works and thats why Champions get an advantage (or should) in terms of bout placement. Thats just my 2cents anyhow.

Whoever was talking about the US economy being great at the moment is crazy. The dollar hasnt been so weak in a long time.

As for people saying that America is the best place for the big fights, I seem to remember two rather large Ali fights...two of the greatest fights of all time, taking place a LONG way outside of the US.

Europe isn't even a country. It's a town. Europe is the capital of Germany in Wales. Everyone knows that.

I dunno. I thought that towns had cathedrals or something. Maybe its just a small village.

                  Its terrifying, isnt it?

Title fights happens everywhere. It's just that it's always bigger when it's being held in U.S.

                      Why?

It's economics! This where fights earn big money. This where fights and fighters get the maximum exposure. Broadcasting wise, this is the home of the biggest promotional companies.

And while we are discussing this. This is why I'm ALI is the greatest in my book. He fought in all corners of the globe and bring prestige and increase people's awareness and appreciation to this sports. He fought in Africa, in Japan, in the Philippines, in the Ba*****, in Puerto Rico and Malysia and yet his fights were always followed and broadcasted all over the world.
