PS....I also am lucky in that I dont take these things personal. I know for FACT 100 percent that there are 2 areas that I made Chad what he is now...his jab and his bodyshots... Those are ME. When I got him he was already super slick, reflexes, good feet, let his hands go etc.....he had no jab and no body shots, though, 9especially thebody shot with the left hand) and thats what I gave him. I will never let any trainer, mayweather or whoever, take that away. but when Chad had to leave it was easy for me to let go. I have my gym and my amateur kids, including an amateur featherweight who is like a son to me, a kid who I will make sure NEVER turns pro no matter what he does (and he is good, holds amateur wins over Jose Aguiniga, David Martinez, Vequan Kimbrough and Adam Carrera among others) and I would choose the guys I have right now over leaving and training a big time super star if it meant leaving my guys I have now.

Damn, Scully you really have it out for Mayweather. Is it because of Dawson? You're really attacking him with threads and articles. By the way, why would Sr. train other fighters for little money but turn down 500,000 to train Oscar? Now that's just ******.

I understand but, you have to admit from a trainer's point of view doesn't he piss you off?

Floyd as a PERSON is a turn off..he tries to hard to make himself a part of the show, reciting poems, etc..he tries to make it like without him the fighter is nothing... and I dont think thats a good approach.

Hey ice, other than Rivera what known fighter do you currently train?

I train USBA 122 pound champion Mike Oliver (he fights on SHOBOX next Friday) and I train former USBA/NABF champion Pito Cardona (he fights Zab Judah in April). I also have former National JO champion and Silver Gloves champion Sammy Vega in the regional Golden Gloves and ABF tournaments (that's two chances to qualify for nationals)

As always, Scully tells it like it is.

A couple of thoughts from the peanut gallery, here:

                  1. Oscar was right to get a new trainer and oust Sr. You don't need that kind of turmoil going into a fight of this magnitude. The purpose of the trainer is to get his charge prepared for the fight, not attract the spotlight like crap does flies. The story is the fight and the fighters, not the trainer vs his estranged son. If that's what he wants, he should rent a gym and spar with Jr. and settle things.

                  2. Now we know where Jr.'s "attitude problem" comes from....he gets it honest.

That's awesome. Being a trainer is always fascinating (at least to me) no matter if it's a top guy, or someone just starting out. as long as they have the desire. Sometimes it's even more fascinating getting a completely new guy, being priviledged enough to teach them from the ground up, wondering hpw far they'll go.

Personally, I don't like these gun for hire trainers, who come in and take over a fighter. It seems like it's more for the money, and I think you need to have your heart in it. Boxing should be sport first, family second, business third.
