The point of the article was to show other perspectives on this issue. I saw that you had an opinion and as a fellow trainer, I thought it'd be nice to show people what one person in the know felt.

When I saw your threads, I figured it'd make for something to take to the water cooler.

Question, is swimming a good workout and how much should I swim if I'm starting out?

Swimming is AWESOME..... swimming works muscles you never knew you had...try treading water in 10 feet deep...for as long as u can (make sure someone is with you, though, seriously, so your legs dont give out on you and u drown)...I used to swim in a hotel pool that was like 40 yards long......i would swim and hard and fast as I could to one end and then turn around and go back..over and over...thats a TOUGH workout!!

Scully is on point. Swimming works out muscles that are otherwise inert no matter what kind of training you do. I just read that on another forum(bodybuilding actually) and I am gonna start swimming myself in a week or so.

No, he did it because I sent him some questions cuz I was having a hard time finding the concentration to work on my Miranda article. He said he ate roadkill and slept under a tarmac, some guy he is.

Thanks John about the swimming, I just got a membership at YMCA where I train and want to get into it.
