Should i give a **** about the heavyweight division??

I dont get to see any of the fights, and dont really give a **** about any of the fighters.

    Should i?

They all seem **** to me. Do any of them have any real talent worth paying to watch?
Or is everyone just waiting for a REAL talent to come along and clean up?

Wlad is becoming a relly good technical fighter. His jab is becoming dominant, so he's alright to watch I guess. Just watch Sam Peter because he's one of the only heavyweights with one shot power. And Holyfield is making some noise.

The hw division has ****** in recent years due to the likes of John Ruiz, Chris Bryd, Hasim Rahman, and others.. But, things have been heating up in the past year and I strongly expect good things in 2007.

Wlad Klitschko, argubly the best of the current crop has impressed fans in his last two outings by giving exciting performances against top level talent. And if you missed the Peter-Toney II fight then you missed out on a great fight that showcased how much Sam Peter has improved and grown as a professional fighter.

Also, the prospect of (partial) unification is on the horizon and is closer to happening than it was 2-3 years ago with Wlad Klitshcko making public that he wants to unify the titles to become the undisputed hw champion.

So, I think that the hw division is worth a second look at before writing off all together...

i say no, i don't give two ****s about the heavyweight division, the great days of the heavyweight are gone, the division sucks, and lacks talent, it has no heros ( well boxing has no heros period), but they have taken the skill out of fighting and just put in big guys that are mostly crossover boxers from other sports because they couldn't hang in whatever sport that they were trying to be in. so since they trained once or twice at a gym and looked good hitting a heavy bag they think they can fight. then all the promoters and who ever else try to grab these big giants amd make stars out of them because of their size while running the heavyweight division and boxing into the ground while they try and fool the public.

heavyweight fights are boring, painful to watch most of the time, to much clinching, not enough engaging, and even if a real fight were to break out the gas so easily the rest of the fight is like watching senior citizens go at it. heavyweights are now getting too big so that the guys who can actually make a fight out of it are now too small.

where the average HW was anywhere from 205-220 now these guys are 250+ and some are far more heavy that 250+ they're reaching into the 300's.

i wanna see action not two tall goofs swinging away and gasing after a single flurry.

there ought t0 be a super HW division for guys fighting over 250 or 260, because all a bigger fighter has to do is maul and lean and grab and hug against a smaller fighter til he's tired them go for the ko, it's lame as ****.

you wanna see real fights, then anything under heavyweight will do. and the better fights are from super middleweight down to featherweight, IMHO.

I agree - the HW division has been crap for years. Besides the odd guy in shape, most of them are just unconditioned fat guys tryin to make a killing whilst there is no one of any note around to kick their ass. This division is living on past glories but it can only do that for so long. All interest is in the lower weight divisions nowadays.

peter has big one shot power? he's a strong clubber that breaks guys down and is yet to be able to stop a semi durable fighter. he's not a big one punch guy
