And who's to say that if Vitali wins the title then Peter will be the next in line...
I watched the Wlad vs Peter fight again earlier today and Wlad dominated him. The first two knockdowns were punches to the back of the head and the third KD was while Wlad was retreating backwards trying to escape Peter's onslaught and Wlad fell down. He got right back up so you cannot say he was hurt. Vitali does not panic the way Wlad does and Vitali is meaner than Wlad so I believe Vitali would have an even easier time disposing of Peter.

        That's not fair.

Ever occur to you that Vitali is coming back now because he's only recently been given a clean bill of health to do so? And did you consider that maybe he's going after Oleg because Oleg holds Vitali's old belt?

Im not saying I know what's in Vitali's heart any more than anyone else, but I think it's a damn sight more plausible than assuming cowardice on the part of such a courageous fighter.
Since Maskaev's last fight alot of stuff for lack of a better word, has been going on behind the scenes to set up a fight with Wlad and now that that has fallen through Vitali suddenly emerges on the scene. Why can't Vitali wait around for a shot? He left Rahman waiting for months on end for a title shot and I'm not sure why the WBC has to bend over backwards for him. Give Sam Peter a shot and if Vitali still wants his shot, let him get it against the winner of Maskaev-Peter.

looks like 58% of the people who voted want to see Vitali fight for the title. But what Im wondering is how will the WBC will vote.

That's what I was thinking, but then Peter said he will sue them. What's the chance that Peter has success with the lawsuit?

I feel that Peter has earned his shot by fighting in and winning a title eliminator twice. Regardless of how you felt the first Toney fight went it is still down as a win. So Peter went out and fought Toney again, and beat him comprehensively. This gives him his shot. Peter is the number 1 contender on the WBC's list so Vitali should fight the number 1 contender after Peter and Maskaev fight (or fight the number two now, which is James Toney).

well i know all organizations are different but the WBC would not make a decision regarding this that would allow them to be sued... they make the rules and guidelines so they know what can and cannot be done... if the vote goes to vitali peter may be able to sue to recoup some of his fees from the toney fight but i doubt hed be able to successfully sue for the right to get the fight for himself...

just as a banchmark look at the IBF regarding their choice of davarryl williamson as mandatory challenger to chris byrd... they appointed him after he lost to wladamir klitschko, who was given the number two ranking behind TOS.... though it showed absolutely blatant alterior motives and made no sense on a very basic level klitschko was unable to sue for his right to the fight that should have been given to him as a result of his victory...

Then I have a good feeling that Vitali will fight for the belt. I will buy this PPV if it does happen.
