I would like to see Vitali-Maskaev and then Vitali-Peter that would be an absolute superfight right there, both fights are tough fights, a lot of people are saying Maskaev is a bum and this and that but hes really not hes a tough fight, both fights would be really entartaining and there is a good chance that both of them will happen this year..

The WBC should honor its title shot its granted to Peter before allowing Vitali to get his shot first. And besides, why doesn't Vitali fight a tune-up before jumping into a title fight at the championship level. I think that this makes more sense, since in the past, Vitali has suffered numerous injuries which delayed his title defenses when he held the belt.

IMO, the best case scenario is, if Peter is granted his shot against Maskaev; wins the WBC title; and then defends it against Vitali.

j/king, I'd say Peter, he's erned it, I think Vitali coming back into the picture does nothing but throw more question marks into an already questionable division in boxing. IMHO the only thing that gonna bring HW boxing back into the forefront of sports would be a unified Champion, with Vitali & Wlad both in the picture I don't see that happening.

I couldn't agree with you more, Alleyes... Vitali coming back in 2007 and demanding an immediate title shot from WBC champion Maskaev does nothing but create another circumstance which may prevent unification from happening..

Just think, if Vitali wasn't in the picture as he is now then, if Peter goes to win the WBC title then there's more reasons than not to set up a hw 'super-fight' with Wlad. The promoters could play up the 'revenge' factor for Peter as well as the unification aspect.

So, with the addition of Vitali in the division who knows what scenario(s) will play out this year.

How's this hating? I think Vitali will fight infrequently as he did before he retired and may screw up any potential (WBC) title fights because of injury. Point, the division doesn't need him.

I would prefer Vitali fight Maskaev but the unbiased person in me says that because Peter was promised by the WBC they should follow through on it. I really wish that the WBC can announce that Maskaev needs to fight Peter and whoever the winner is has no choice but to fight Vitali. They need to make the ruling LOUD AND CLEAR to both Maskaev and Peter's camps so that these ****suckers do not try and **** Vitali out of his shot. They should say that if either one tries to snake their way out of facing Vitali that they will be stripped right away.

I think that the biggest problem with giving Vitali a title shot first is, that Vitali's been out for so long that its going to take awhile for him to get prepared for this fight and there's the chance that he will re-injure himself.
so, as a result of these circumstances I wouldn't expect that a fight would happen for at least 5-6 months... So where the hell does that leave Sam Peter?
