Lovely structured argument up to that moronic point.

Now are you saying that the Hatton-Urango fight is comparrable to all these fights I have mention?

Be a real boxing fan son and not just a Hatton **** sucker. Watch more boxing fights so you'll learn which is impressive or not.
The matchup isn't impressive. The achievement isn't impressive. Hatton's considerable display of skill for nine of the twelve rounds was impressive.

By a similar rationale, Floyd Mayweather's win over Carlos Baldomir was underwhelming as a result. The manner in which he went about the win was unimpressive. The defensive skill he displayed in scoring a shutout was impressive.

You can name the biggest fights in history and compare Hatton-Urango unfavourably to them, but that's easy to do and not terribly fair. Hatton winning a massively wide unanimous decision against Urango wasn't terribly impressive simply because Urango is limited as a fighter. Hatton holding for the last three rounds is also unimpressive. Hatton's skill in completely dominating eight rounds without spoiling was impressive and that doesn't make me a "hatton **** sucker" it just means I can view the fight without bias.

There you go son. Now you're talking. You can call that win dominating because Hatton won almost all the rounds but to call that WIN impressive is different.

As you we're saying " The matchup isn't impressive. The achievement isn't impressive. The manner in which he went about the win was unimpressive.

And who said that PBF's win over Baldomir is impressive? That win stinks just like Hatton's win over Urango. You know what's common in those two fights? Hatton and Pbf fought opponents who were not in their own class.

                End of DISCUSSION.

Good post. Although i thought Urango would represent a tough test, i don't think anyone would have given him a chance of an upset. Hatton was impressive in the first half of the fight, and not so impressive in the latter part of the fight. However, with all due respect to Hatton, i don't think he made any excuses.

It was Ray Hatton, Rick's dad, who was asked if something was up with Ricky after the fight. He answered honestly. They seem an honest bunch. There's not many fighters who'll come out and say "Those punches really hurt me and I had to do what I could to win". But those were Rick's words after the fight.
