I actually think this would be closer than people think. Hatton would probably win a decisian, but a close and bloody one.

Hatton would have to box. Only a couple of fighters ever went toe-to-toe with the returned version of Ward and won.... Diaz, and I'm trying to think of someone else..... maybe he's the only one. Ward lives for fighters to try and grab and hold and fight him on the inside. Hatton can box, though, and make adjustments better than Ward- so Hatton would be favored. He wouldn't beat him easily, fighting the way he's fought his last 3 fights, though, I assure you of that. And actually that's true of most fighters at 140, it's not a slight to Hatton. Almost nobody fought Ward on the inside and beat him.

Im glad you said Diaz, Diaz beat him at his own game. Another is Jesse James Lejia before the cut was give Ward hell and Leija came from the jr. lightweight division. Ward good tough fighter but damn he's getting over rated here.

Hatton would beat him either widely on points or by late stoppage. There is no way that Ward wins, let alone by knockout.

ok maybe i was wrong in my knockout prediction i was kinda ina rush, but dont underestimate ward. i like hatton 2, but if he clinches enuff with ward he would get a decision, if he toughed it out and fought toe to toe hed get his ass handed to him, and if he moved enuff n boxed then hed also get a decision, so his chances are higher than ward, i take back my prediciton.

He lost on cuts to Phillips, lost almost every round to a green Judah, got schooled 2 of 3 times to Gatti (and the win could've easily been a draw or loss), lost to Diaz, Murray, Brazier. He beat Green and some prospects on the rise like Sanchez and Neary but it's not like his list on wins is very impressive.

Hatton beat Tszyu when Tszyu was the champ at 140 and coming off one of his best performances. Hatton moved up and won a very close decision over a top 5 WW. When Ward faced guys on that level it was never that close as it was with Collazo.

Hatton wins beccause he's better.

This fight is silly. Ward lasts 10 rounds at max because of his great conditioning, and heart.

Put it this way, if you go life and death with Emmanuel Augustus - you are NOT a top fighter. And I don't want to hear this crap about Augustus being anywhere higher then club fighter status.

ward was put on the map in his fights with gatti and his one fight with augustus. he'd go the distance cuz of his stamina, heart, and chin. but other than that, hatton would shred ward.

Ward aint no SRR but give the guy sum credit, if u fought his fight u were in a FIGHT! Hatton aint exactly Roy Jones tho is he? Didnt take much to outbox Tackie or Urango!
