Boxing has always thrived in poorer demographics, and the racial characteristics of boxers has always reflected the poverty of the times (witness the boxers of Irish, Italian and ***ish descent throughout the early part of the 20th century, and the black boxers in the 60s, 70s and 80s). This is true of today, but while ***ish, Irish, Italian and African-Americans no longer make up the underclass in the United States, migrants from the old Soviet Bloc (and mexicans for that matter) do.
You have completely missed the point Lennox Lewis tried to make there

I have noticed this as well. I think that whenever black people say stuff like that whites ignore it due to their arrogance. By this I mean that since white people know they have always been the powerful race in the Western World, and always will be, they do not make such a fuss about black people saying **** like that because it does not challenge their position of power. It will not to anything to change the status quo, blacks have it harder, whites have it easier, period.

However, if a white person would say something like that it would be deemed rascist due to the history of abuse towards blacks. For over 500 years blacks have been enslaved, lynched, persecuted, denied human rights, and discriminated against in every possible way. Because of this, if a white person said he'd never let a black man beat him, it is taken as an example of whites still thinking they are superior to blacks, and this does not look good or politically correct becuase of what blacks have suffered at the hands of whites. If a black man said he'd never let a white man beat him, it is interpreted as "the oppressed does not want to stoop down to his oppressor anymore."

Just before the lewis-klitschko fight, there was an interview with lennox in the sun in which he said "losing to a white man brings more shame because they have it easier than us". This comment went completely un-noticed when it is quite clearly racist. Unfortunately people only seem to acknowledge racism when it is aimed at blacks.
Yeah I remember Len saying that. That is blatantly racist.

Could not have said it any better myself. You can also see a more delicate example of what your saying in the use of the word "Ni99a" which can be used to mean different things as opposed to the "er" version which really only has one intention and meaning. The "ga" version, even if it meant as a term of endearment or as a reference to another person said without any negative intentions, is more sensitive comming from the mouth of a white person. It is a very popular word and not by any means taboo if we base it on the sales of hip hop albums, it is heard by millions, emulated by millions, young and old, white or black. Yet, comming from the mouth of a white dude, it is taboo. Not so if it is said by Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, or other ********** that are seen as non-threatining. It is a bad part of World History that has obviously left some big wounds.

Except what does a Ukrainian like me, living in Canada and prolly moving to the States soon have to do with white Americans oppresing blacks?

Ukrainians were busy fighting off Poles, Russians and Tatars all their history, yet just because the colour of my skin is the same as of some colonial redneck I will be put in the same category as him.

                    Think about that

I guess it does not matter. Any sign of weakness is an invitation. I guess if it is o.k. for a white guy from Ukraine to do it, then it is o.k. for a white guy in france to do it, then it is o.k. for a white guy in the U.S. to do it. It is a concensus among white people that would place you in the same boat as all other white guys or whatever.
