Except what does a Ukrainian like me, living in Canada and prolly moving to the States soon have to do with white Americans oppresing blacks?

Ukrainians were busy fighting off Poles, Russians and Tatars all their history, yet just because the colour of my skin is the same as of some colonial redneck I will be put in the same category as him.

i think the modern conflict goes along the race lines, not along some little ethnic differences.

it is about discrimination too -- in today's world blacks are systematically discriminated for a variety of reasons -- they do not go to good schools, they do not get good education, they earn lower salaries even conditional on the same level of education and the same level of innate ability, they get stopped and arrested more by police... about half of black men get jailed at least once in their lifetime... etc.

That might be all true, but when I arrived to this country I went to school with plenty of black kids, and of our highschool class only 1 black guy went to University. The rest skipped class, didnt hand in their work. Is that the case generaly or just coincidence? I dunno. Thats what happend in my school.

I guess it does not matter. Any sign of weakness is an invitation. I guess if it is o.k. for a white guy from Ukraine to do it, then it is o.k. for a white guy in france to do it, then it is o.k. for a white guy in the U.S. to do it. It is a concensus among white people that would place you in the same boat as all other white guys or whatever.

The point Im making is that why should I be thought of as a great grand son of some slave driver just cause I share a look with someone who was.

It is not a coincidence ... it is a cultural trap, a whole insitution that has persisted over a century . Among blacks, peer effects, low expectations, fatherlessness, etc. all contribute to the permanence of the trap.

There is no easy solution.

And that should be a factor why? If you dont believe in yourself then you are going to achieve ****-all. If I gave up on things in my life because someone or majority said I couldnt do....you know the rest of the sentence.
