  • Racists in boxing

I read a reply to a thread about Roy Jones several weeks ago, and somebody said Roy would never let a white man beat him, then somebody said it was the best reply he had heard in ages If I said Ricky Hatton would never let a Black man beat him (it may be true but I would not say it) not only would it promote the biggest response I would get banned from the site how and why is that.
Have we to let the Malcolm X oneabies have there rant every so often to keep them happy equal ops works both ways I now play the black keys on my key board (which is not stolen by the way) now theirs a step in the right direction.

I think he's got a point. Just before the lewis-klitschko fight, there was an interview with lennox in the sun in which he said "losing to a white man brings more shame because they have it easier than us". This comment went completely un-noticed when it is quite clearly racist. Unfortunately people only seem to acknowledge racism when it is aimed at blacks.

It's a bit strange when a guy who spent most of his life in Britain and Canada can say he had it rougher than a man who spent his early years in a soviet country, because of the colour of his skin. If you notice a lot of the top white boxers now are former Eastern Bloc. Boxing has always thrived in poorer demographics, and the racial characteristics of boxers has always reflected the poverty of the times (witness the boxers of Irish, Italian and ***ish descent throughout the early part of the 20th century, and the black boxers in the 60s, 70s and 80s). This is true of today, but while ***ish, Irish, Italian and African-Americans no longer make up the underclass in the United States, migrants from the old Soviet Bloc (and mexicans for that matter) do.

say that to Jirov they say he used to train swiming in cold freezing water in a lake middle of nowhere.

anyway i think part of the sotry here is that many black feel that they dont reach there goal because they are black which is not true.

you are paid what you deserved and dont blame a person who his great great great ancestor did something and not all of them.

people who alway look on skin color usually dont successed in life because they alway think for a person to successed he have to be white or something but matter fact he have to train and study for it as hard as he could.

boxing is a great leveller almost all fighters come from poor back grounds no black person can say johnny tapia had it easy growing up.
I hate the world owes me a living, because my great grandfather had it rough mob, that old chest nut sailed a long time ago. I come from one of the roughest estates in England but i don't use it as an excuss for my personal character failings.

Well done mate! I am white, and a lot of abuse is aimed at white people but goes by unnoticed because people are just too ignorant to see it themselves. And I ain't no racist.

Racism isn't just white people abusing everyone else, it is every different race abusing all the other races. No one race is innocent, all races do it.

Exactly, there are always exceptions but for the most part boxing has been a poor man's sport.
