Floyd Senior is a clown. He's a great trainer? Other than him constantly SAYING IT what makes him so great? Think about that. It CAN'T BE his work with Oscar because I think Oscar looked better BEFORE he got with Senior. Remember the Sturm fight? And don't even tell me it was his work with Floyd JR. because number one Floyd Sr. wasn't even around for most of his later and amateur and pro career and, 2, Roy Jones SR. developed Roy, Gainer, Arthur Williams AND "Cool" Vince Phillips and is as great as anybody in terms of skills and knowledge... he just never talked about it like Mayweather does. I am laughing when I see SO MANY people claim Mayweather Sr. is so great because of nothing other than he tells them he is. He is almost unintelligible as it is and in the promotion for a fight like this he would make a huge fool of himself and take away from Oscar. As a trainer... if he wants to take ALL the credit, literally, for Oscar being able to beat Jr. because of his input then he should take the blame for Oscar losing to Sturm and Hops. Also food for thought...Senior talks so highly of his defensive system, like it is the force or something, like it is a top secret boxing genius defense system that rules the world... well, I asked Marlon Starling (who beat Sr, twice) about it and he laughed and said "Well, I can tell you that I didn't have any trouble hitting him if that's what your asking." He then showed me the very simple counter move that he used to open Mayweather up and hit him with straight right hands over and over. I am sure Oscar will figure it out all on his own

i agree that he werent around floyd as much as most father-son partnerships , but floyd was still a baby with gloves on and floyd snr taught floyd most of his defensive techniques, roger imo made floyd a more complete fighter going forward but as shown in the baldomir fight floyd's defensive technique which his daddy did teach him is amazing

also floyd snr is not the best trainer in the world, i save that for nacho beristean but he is a very good trainer, the way he switched oscar's style in the mosley re-match and the way he made oscar estabilish his jab more proved that to me, yeah you can throw the sturm an b-hop fights inb but weres the shame in losing to a fully fledged middleweight , again oscar's tactics in that fight were well executed for 9 rounds

but couldnt you also say its human instinct not to take the blame for other's misfortune but at times to take the credit also i think its unfair to throw oscar's worst performance into the face of snr, you can blame oscar an snr for that but you could also give him credit for changing oscars tactics so well for the mosley re-match for improving his jab and left hook .

Oscar's always had problems with jabbers, and coming into the fight out of shape and standing in front of him wasn't going to help his cause.
