Floyd Senior is a clown. He's a great trainer? Other than him constantly SAYING IT what makes him so great? Think about that. It CAN'T BE his work with Oscar because I think Oscar looked better BEFORE he got with Senior. Remember the Sturm fight? And don't even tell me it was his work with Floyd JR. because number one Floyd Sr. wasn't even around for most of his later and amateur and pro career and, 2, Roy Jones SR. developed Roy, Gainer, Arthur Williams AND "Cool" Vince Phillips and is as great as anybody in terms of skills and knowledge... he just never talked about it like Mayweather does. I am laughing when I see SO MANY people claim Mayweather Sr. is so great because of nothing other than he tells them he is. He is almost unintelligible as it is and in the promotion for a fight like this he would make a huge fool of himself and take away from Oscar. As a trainer... if he wants to take ALL the credit, literally, for Oscar being able to beat Jr. because of his input then he should take the blame for Oscar losing to Sturm and Hops. Also food for thought...Senior talks so highly of his defensive system, like it is the force or something, like it is a top secret boxing genius defense system that rules the world... well, I asked Marlon Starling (who beat Sr, twice) about it and he laughed and said "Well, I can tell you that I didn't have any trouble hitting him if that's what your asking." He then showed me the very simple counter move that he used to open Mayweather up and hit him with straight right hands over and over. I am sure Oscar will figure it out all on his own
Good That Floyd Sr Wont Be There.

Mayweather has hyped himself into the public believing he is so great. I agree with what you say 100%. He makes Oscar look bad (I have never been a DeLaHoya fan either so it didn't take much). An unloyal guy like Oscar deserves a guy like Floyd Sr. come to think of it. The Magic man was one hell of a fighter, I always admired.Floyd Senior is a clown. He's a great trainer? Wow, that's alot hateration coming from you. And Floyd Sr ain't the only one saying he is great trainer, a lot of the fighters are saying it too!Floyd Senior is a clown. He's a great trainer? oscar is a cheapskate.
the normal going rate for trainers is 10% of the purse
if the golden girl gets $20,000,000 = $2,000,000 for Floyd Sr
if the golden girl gets the realistic figure of $30,000,000 = $3,000,000 for Floyd Sr
no way the golden is making less than $20,000,000 for this fight.Comment

dawg25, save the "hateration" nonsense, ok? So if someone doesnt agree with someones greatness than they are a hater? It can't just be that they are correct? A lot of fighters agree he is great? Listen, if you have been around boxing for more than a minute you would know... fighters say good things about the people they are with at the time, regardless. Tell ME something...you think Senior is a great trainer? Tell me WHY? Tell me exactly why you say that. Guaranteed you will come up with NOTHING. Allyou kno wis what you read. You say he is a great trainer yet you have no clue what he does in the gym, what he says, what his ideas and philosophies are etc. I may or may not be able to train afighter from a young age to deal with a Mayweather, of course. Jose Rivera is a guy I trained for two fights in his mid 30's when he had already been boxing for 16 years. As a trainer I or anyone can only work with what you have, hoping to get the most out of what you have to work with. I hope you arent actually foolish enough to believe Mayweather Sr. or anyone for that matter can just take ANY fighter and make him elite. If you think that... you should stop watching, posting, reading and thinking about boxing right now.Comment

My trainer always told me the mark of a great trainer is someone who can take an amateur and make a good professional out of. It takes more than just being in the gym with them, it's a full time job. You have to be a parent, a disciplinarian, a teacher, a whole lot of things.dawg25, save the "hateration" nonsense, ok? So if someone doesnt agree with someones greatness than they are a hater? Angelo Dundee trained Ali and Ray Leonard, but he didn't make either of them. He just worked the corner and for the most part was a yes man. He didn't have them in the amateurs, he was handed them. Now Emmanuel Steward made Tommy Hearns, credit is due there. Most of us can only see whats on tv and whatnot, but a lot more goes into being a good trainer than working a corner.Comment
