I think Hatton is a very good fighter but he knows and others do too, what will happen if he fights Mayweather. It will be Ricky Hatton bobble-head night for 12 rounds. Also no way is Floyd going from 154 back to 140. Hatton would need to go to 147.

I don't think the fight will happen. Hatton should focus on his fight the 20th and then Castillo.

Well, someone important doesn't agree with you. Guess who that is? Ricky Hatton and his camp. If they thought it was only a matter of not enough time for preparation then he would've fought again at WW and he would've had all the time in the world to prepare. Hatton and his camp obviously know it was more than just enough time to prepare. There is no other reason for going back down to 140lbs. All the big fights are at WW not jrWW i.e. PBF, Cotto, Mosely, Margarito, Paul Williams, Zab Judah, Baldomir.

How can Hatton claim greatness? Who has he beaten that wasn't 35+years old? Take out Tzu and Hatton's career is a who's who of "WHO?". BTW Hatton can't outbox people, he can out work people and out power or muscle but he wont outbox top fighters.......(but I bet you'll refer to the Ben Tackie fight to show Hattons boxing prowess even though Tackie was like 39yr old and lost 4 of his last 6 fights).

The guy has DOMINTATED everyone that he's fought for the past 4 years. Zab could be the exception since he did win 4 rounds. And yes, Dominating guys like Gatti, N'Dou, Mitchell, Sosa and Corley say a lot more than dominating guys like Maussa, Oliveira, Michael Stewart, and Carlos Vilches (and struggling with Collazo/Tszyu).
You love to come on here and say that PBF hasn't done enough in your mind to be great, yet you admit that you don't have a clue about his past.
And yes, I genuinely think that Hatton would be carried away from a fight with Cotto and wouldn't know what happened to him if he fought PBF.
You should take me seriously. I am always as honest as i can be, and dont intentionally take the mickey like some people.
I was honest when i said i didnt know much about the opponents PBF had fought earlier in his career. I was just of the belief that if those guys were good i would have known a bit more about them. If they were great it would be stuffed in my face how good they were. I havent intentionally tried to not know how good they were. SRL again for example. He beat Hagler, Duran Hearns. Even if i tried to not know who these guys were it would be impossible unless i lived on the moon for the last half century. Boxing historians will talk about how great Duran was, Hearns was, Hagler was, Benitez was etc. But i dont think history will to PBFs opponents.
And maybe this is because PBF beat these guys so long ago as well. WHo has he beaten of late that history will talk about favourably. See it seems like i am being negative towards PBF but that isnt the case. I am just being honest. I am not saying Hatton will kick his ass like you are saying and others.

Hatton just busted out onto the scene about 2 years ago. damn... give the kid some time. Hes already beaten legends, and stopped guys that were never previously stopped.

              The kid matures everytime out.

I will have to mention Kostya. I actually know who he is! I didnt try and know who Kostya was. I just heard that Kostya is great. Boxing historians will remember Kostya as well. Kostya earned that reputation. Historians are giving Kostya the credit they think he deserves. They will talk about him when Hatton and PBF are long retired. Hernandez type boxers will not be, and i dont know if any PBF opponents will be. You cant argue with what im saying. It is my observation and i am saying it because i have observed it.
And i am not saying Hatton has beaten hundreds of greats. I know Hatton has only one on his CV. It just might be 1 more than PBF, and 3 less than SRL.

The fact is that Hatton has been a professional fighter for 10 years and it took him 8 whole years of fighting bums to finally step up to a real challenge. He has beaten one top fighter in 10 years...
