This will be a very interesting fight. Though I guess it's the only thing left for both of them since there both pretty weak in draws now. You got Mayorga whose been KOed to **** by 2 opponents making comebacks which makes him look real bad. Then you got Vargas whose been on ****road for awhile and lost last 2 fights by KO. It's really a meaningless fight because regardless of who wins, it doesn't really move them up anywhere.

if vargas could land on mosley ..which he did ...i know he can land on mayorga this fight is gonna be another attempt for everyone to jump on ricardos bandwagon till he gets beat then we get to hear for 6 monthes on what a warrior he is

Are we talking about the same Vargas that lost by TKO to Mosley who hasn't TKO'd anyone in over 5 years? Mosley who is not known for his power at WW TKO'd him at LMW? Now Vargas is fighting someone who is a natural LMW/MW with a tremendous right hand and is known as a KO artist. Come on you cant be serious with Vargas.

Its going to be like a war between two sad little countries with little to fight for. This might have been a great fight a few years ago. I wouldn't mind seeing the fight but no way I'm going to pay for two washed up guys who've been getting KO'd.

Mayorga's power is actually overrated, and his best weight is welterweight. It should be a close fight considering how washed up Vargas is. He could be better without having to weight drain.

Hard to imagine this not being a good fight. I was intrigued by Trinidad-Mayorga but saw through the mismatch that De La Hoya-Mayorga was going to be. This time it's almost guaranteed to be a war, with the winner going nowhere. Mayorga is weak above 154 and Vargas is shot. Should be fun while it lasts, but this is ending in a knockout before the late rounds I think.
