Balboa ko's Tarver in the 9th. Nah, the ref jumps in and saves Balboa in the final round in a controversial act, but Balboa made to the last round.
And if you're not a boxing fan and you watch Rocky Balboa, you will still like it. Most of the people that see it probably are not boxing fans and they love it.
the realism was off the charts. And **** Tarver was fat. I guess he didn't really get enough time to tone up, being that he had the Hopkins fight. But I thought they should have given Tarver more a voice. Because naturally this guy is an act. Thoughts?
I thoroughly enjoyed the move though I think Roy Jones who Stallone had originally wanted would have fit the part more.
I just watched it. I am disappointed. I'll try not to give away the ending.
First of all, The whole premise of the movie was bogus. The fight was a exhibition bout, but the number of rounds was all wrong. Mike Tyson had a cameo appearance, calling Dixon out. This made no sense at all. This is where the rumor of Tyson calling Tarver out started. They never said exactly how old Rocky was supposed to be, we know sly is 60. Well I can't say much more without giving away the ending.
I give Rocky Balboa a D minus. A very forgettable movie. The wait was not worth it.
C'mon man, give Sly a break. It was a great way to end the Rocky series. If your looking for an action movie...you came to the wrong theatre. Rocky is about life not fighting.
I just seen this movie. I thought it was a great movie. But i still think there should be a part 7. At least i'd like to see a part 7. And for once, probably in the history of the movie business, a Mexican worker in the movie was acutally playing Mexican music and not some salsa music, that just surprised me and shows that Rocky did the research. Props to Stallon. And i thought the fight scenes were good and at times seemed realistic. But when Rocky flurried punchs, thats when it seems a bit fake, cause i don't remember Rocky throwing flurries in his earlier movies and you could tell his was pulling his punchs. And the new charectors he introduced, Spider, Tarver, played there roles good. Tarver did a good job, would have liked to see him be more of a mean charactor but his charactor fit the movie. Except i think when he was talking to Tyson they should have had him yell, instead of whisper. But, overall great movie. We need a part 7. I think with this movie here he gave new life to another movie.
I think it was one of the best movies ive ever seen, i loved the presentation of that mutha ****in fight, damn good movie right there boi.
Defently. I also liked when Tarver was saying to Rocky that if he'll carry him in the fight, but if he hurt him or stuns him, he'll knock out Rocky, i thought that was classic. Also the charector he brought back "little marie" was a good one, cause it made you think of the earlier movies.
I remember when i first heard the Stallon was working on a 6 Rocky movie. was a few years back, and the wait was well worth it. What was a bit funny and expected was Paulies charactor, that fool cracks me up. Angry funny charector. Just an over all great movie. Defently i recommend this movie to anybody who want to see a great movie, great boxing movie and a classic Rocky movie.
"Rocky Balboa" was just Stallone sucking up to the boxing community. The movie ******. In the first place, "Rocky's" trainer tells him he can't run or lift weights, because he is too old and his joints can't stand it. So how do they show him training?...... mostly lifting weights and running. Anyway, as an old guy, I can attest to the fact that a 60-year-old cannot train hard enough to get in the ring with a world champion at any weight probably. One can only do about half the work needed to get ready because, true enough, the joints don't hold up and the energy isn't there. "Rocky" looked pretty clean....for a 60-year-old. Yeah, Tarver was fat, and I liked the way they had him "break his hand" in the second round. But there isn't a 60-year-old alive today who could get in the ring with a world champion at his weight and go 10 rounds to lose a "split decision". What a load of BS! My wife, however, liked the movie. There's no accounting tastes.....
