the realism was off the charts. And **** Tarver was fat. I guess he didn't really get enough time to tone up, being that he had the Hopkins fight. But I thought they should have given Tarver more a voice. Because naturally this guy is an act. Thoughts?
Man Rocky 6 was great

Hey guys- be sure to tell me about Rambo IV too... -
I really liked it a lot. Then again it was the first movie I've seen in this huge new theater they recently built by my house. Stadium style seating and an insanely huge screen added to the whole movie experience. Not to mention the audience was nuts, cheering at everything and screaming, GO ROCKO! every so often. All in all, I thought it was a great ending to the series and was much needed after that ****fest we call Rocky 5. I loved Rocky spitting out all the pep lines and classic references, and Larry Merchant was a riot. Definitely must see for any boxing fan. ****, regardless if it ****** or not, you should see it if your a boxing fan! Nough said.Comment

I just watched it. I am disappointed. I'll try not to give away the ending.
First of all, The whole premise of the movie was bogus. The fight was a exhibition bout, but the number of rounds was all wrong. Mike Tyson had a cameo appearance, calling Dixon out. This made no sense at all. This is where the rumor of Tyson calling Tarver out started. They never said exactly how old Rocky was supposed to be, we know sly is 60. Well I can't say much more without giving away the ending.
I give Rocky Balboa a D minus. A very forgettable movie. The wait was not worth it.Comment

I have to disagree, it seems to me you were only looking for the boxing match. And that's not what the movie was about.I just watched it. I am disappointed. I'll try not to give away the ending.

I'm a very tough fan of the series, and I think only Rocky I surpasses it. People in my theater on Friday were applauding and crying by the end of it...
They said "Fighters in their 50s have never had any success in comebacks" during the press conference. Man you were just looking at the boxing, comeon now. The boxing has ALWAYS been ridiculous in Rocky, but that's not the point. I mean, you must hate the 100% connect rate??
The movie was about getting older, about all of us what happens as we get older, and what is in us...what makes us who we are. Where we are from. To me the flashbacks were excellently timed and the flashbacks were edited to look fantastic when integrated into the present Rocky life.
Here's the line that summed it up to me..."What's wrong with standing toe to toe with someone and saying "I AM"Comment

the wait was plenty worth it and it was an excellent movie. There wasnothing nonsensical about Tyson doing what he did in the movie. He was only playing himself in the movie. You are overthinking what his role is supposed to be in the film.
Nah, the Hopkins fight was made after filming had been done.I guess he didn't really get enough time to tone up, being that he had the Hopkins fight.Comment

The fight itself was ..well, a Rocky fight, I fully expected that. That quote was a good one. To me, the movie wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Maybe in part because I don't like Tarver. They should have got someone else to play Dixon. Knowing that Tarver was never a HW, let alone the champion, made it less. I can't really say who would have been better as Dixon; James Toney?I have to disagree, it seems to me you were only looking for the boxing match. And that's not what the movie was about.
