i would love to watch joe calzaghe fight somebody good, establish his name, and earn the respect that is there for the taking...

but i dont have my hopes up expecting him to ever sign a career defining fight anymore and my jaw would literally hit the floor if he signed ti fight either hopkins or taylor, and never ever ever would he come to the states.

Yep i think he will come to the states very soon. He is sick of fighting in Wales and needs some new scenery.

at least he acknowledge's this one with Taylor not being ready yet. Taylor has got great tools and great skill (soon to be great skills), but he isnt ready for a fight with Calzaghe because up to this point Taylor has been lucky in his last 4 fights and Taylor has been fighting mostly Jr. Middleweights his whole career.

two gifts against Hopkins and a razor thin draw with Wright, then he was unable to put away Ouma(who has the best chin around next to hopkins and toney and lacks defense unlike hopkins and toney, thats a solid chin) but a fight with Calzaghe even on US soil would probably be obvious that Taylor isnt ready to fight that kind of fight.

at the very least Calzaghe is speaking truthfully, although it's kind of hypocritical the way his career has been then to say this, and with his bout coming up against manfredo, but i'm glad that he isnt trying to exploit another young and inexperienced fighter. taylor has experience but not the right kind. **** taylor can't win a fight without the judges, he hasn't done it in his high profile fights. at least joe makes it obvious who won when he fights even if joe lets his opposition win a couple of rounds, at least you know who won without debate, at least lately, taylor on the other hand has 3 fights that people to this day argue about whether or not he deserved the win or not.
calzaghe is a very, very bad style matchup for taylor. any kind of prime calzaghe beats taylor. taylor can't fight on the inside, joe's handspeed would be a terrible nightmare for him, as well as the weird angles calzone throws from. taylor is a gifted athlete but i'm not sure he'll ever be able to beat a prime calzaghe ( keep in mind, this is from a guy who wanted lacy to beat calzone, i'm not a joe blow fan)

Taylor isn't ready, but a good money fight - and Kessler is more than ready, but no good moneyfight. - another piece of Calzaghe-logic. I want to fight Hopkins - but the man that beat him twice isn't ready for me... what does that make Hopkins
Kessler was Calzaghe's chance to write history and become the first boxer ever to unify SMW, but he choose to drop the IBF-belt and fight Manfredo!!! instead - what a joke

Frank Warren is ******, why did he choose Sakio Bika for a voluntary defence, when he knew that Robert Stieglitz was number 1 Mandatory for the IBF and number 1 mandatory for the WBO. If Calzaghe had fought Robert Stieglitz instead of Sakio Bika, he would have dealt with his mandatory, leaving him with the 2 belts. By fighting Sakio Bika in October, he had until end of December to fight Robert Stieglitz by the IBF, which was impossible to do as he had suffered a cut by a headbutt from Sakio Bika.

I think that for him to get the UNIVERSAL respect that he wants, he needs to forget his mandatories and start facing the best there is out there for him. Even if that means big names who's 'skills arent on par with his'. Face Kessler; Taylor; B-Hop; Froch; Winky; RJJ. I know that there are guys who are undersized or overaged at this point, but that is the best out there. Move up or down if needed. But fight the fights that will make a universal name for himself.
