I love how guys making promo blurbs always drum up such debates.

MMA is doing very well this year. The last few UFC ppv's have beat all the major boxing ppvs that were on in the same month. Boxing's history assures its place in combat sports, but MMA has been through rough times, hell-dark times, has steadily grown, evolved, and appears to not be going away.

Wether or not MMA eclipses boxing is rather immaterial, there is more than enough room for both.

While, as a fan of both, I hate the whole, "Who's a beter figher debate?" If you were to pit Tarver agaisnt Ortiz, I'd favor Ortiz. KO power and great punching means squat when one well blocked or slipped punch means Tarver would, most likely, find himself on his back, controlled, weaponless, and the fight would shortly be over.

The sport of boxing will never ever die, it's one of the oldest (if not the oldest) sports of all time. boxing just has too history to let it die. I'm a major boxing fan, but I also like to watch MMA, but UFC makes it so boring, they're just all about hype, but they bring nothing to the table. All of UFC's fights are just guys on ground just doing nothing. If you wanna watch good MMA fighting watch PRIDE, at least their fights are exicitng to watch. Still, if it's either PRIDE or UFC, MMA will never beat boxing. Okay, so boxing isn't what it used to be, but there are still alot of amazing fights. Boxing just has something special that MMA will never have. MMA will probably last a while, but not long. and another thing, is Ortiz ****** or somthin, cause why is sayin that UFC is beating pro wrestling. pro wrestling is a whole another fan base, with people looking for entertaiment and not good technical wrestling. Plus, you can't count pro wrestling becuase...IT'S FAKE, ORTIZ! DUH!

Actually UFC has the WWE to thank for their sudden craze because when they put their product on Spike TV they grabbed the interest of wrestling fans.

Me and my brother always have the argument what is better MMA or Boxing. I am a big boxing fan and he is into pride and UFC (although we're into both of them as well). I think its hard to judge what it the better fighting skill, because they are so different, MMA has very little rules and you can use just about any part of your body to strike. Personally I think there is more than enough room for both, and I'm glad MMA is becoming so big. I'd much rather watch UFC than watch a football or basketball game (my roomates think I am crazy because of this). Boxing is my favorite though because of the history and auora that goes along with it. Ortiz is dumb to try and pin these two great sports against each other.

Its kinda ****** for Ortiz to say MMA is better than boxing but its equally ignorant to call MMA a fad sport which consist of guys rolling on the ground. MMA is a highly skilled sport.

With that said why is everyone comparing these two sports....its apples and oranges. You dont see NFL players saying that they are better athletes than NBA or MLB players. If football players went against an NBA player or MLB player in there own respective sport they would probably get spanked......and vice versa.

There are a few exceptions with some guys like Bo-Jackson and Deon Sanders who are good at both. The same general rule holds for MMA and Boxing. Boxers will get killed by MMA with MMA rules and vice versa. Sure there might eventually prove to be some exceptions but dont think that every pro-boxer has much more than a first swing KO chance of winning against a pro-MMA fighter.

Like him or not...TITO SELLS TICKETS & PPV's!

He is the equivalent of an Oscar De La Hoya.

Tito crosses racial boundaries of white/hispanic. Chuck & Randy cater more towards the white fan base.

Why do you think that Baldheaded guy keeps Tito around? BECAUSE HE SELLS TICKETS! None of these other Jar Heads have any marketing savvy and kant portray a marketable personality like Tito.

Hence, Tito = DLH = Savvy Businessmen = Talented Athelets
