Obviously, but Floyd still says to this day that Augustus was his toughest challenge.

if augustus gets a fair shake from the ref and the judges he has a good chance at beating some of the top ten contenders at 140.

no favortism and no bias judgement for or against his style of fighting and let the punch stats and effective game plan be the judge and i think that you'll see augustus get more wins.

as for augustus beating the cream of the crop at 140, thats a different story, i wouldn't say he gets beat or beats anyone, but one thing that is for sure if he were to fight anyone of the best at 140 he'd give them fitz and the fights would be entertaining to say the least................

and another thought one augustus getting a title shot, he's gotta beat the guys that are ahead of him, plain and simple, go through the **** and climb your way up.

Hes a ****y guy that sells tickets

Hes fought hard for his shot, he deserves a bigger name at 140

Augustus won by scores of 100-89, 100-89, 100-90 to claim the WBC Continental Americas super lightweight championship. After the fight, Augustus stated, "I'd like to fight the best fighters out there," Augustus said. "I'm an HBO fighter and a very entertaining fighter. I've had some tough breaks along the way but now things are starting to come my way."

Yeah, not like its a huge deal, and he was fighting a can. But really, if you are Augustus any win, any kind of title, at this point in his career is a good thing. Those of us with a soft spot for the eccentric journeyman can at least be glad he didnt **** this one up (or get ****ed).
I didn't see the Augustus fight, did he do his thing?

'Fans" reaction to Augustus record also illustrates a sad part of the sport.

Augustus has some robberies, yeah, but he's got legit losses too where he was simply outclassed. I admit that. But, and this is the truly important point, a lot of his losses are because he had no choice but to fight, taking a matches on short notice (thus the weed piss bust for instance), underprepared, sick, whatever, but needing a paycheck so he couldnt turn the fight down.

Not every guy out there is Sugar Ray Leonard or Jermaine Taylor, coddled and carefully matched their entire career from the get-go. Sometimes losses arent just a result of being a subpar fighter, its a matter of not being cradled and carried at the right time by handlers. In Augustus case, there is a bit of that in his performance record.
